As you all most likely know, I love literally all animals! Spaghetti was my 2017 birthday present, we never even knew if she was actually a girl or a boy - sold to me as unknown, but I’ve always just called her a her!
Literally yesterday I said to Marcus, she’s looking really round atm and probably needs to cut back on her feed schedule!
Well this morning after thinking she had escaped at some point yesterday evening/overnight she was actually hiding a little clutch of eggs that she has laid 😭

She has been my only snake, never been around others since 2017 when I got her as a teeny tiny worm like baby. So no chance she has been off glavanting with a boy and getting knocked up!
However snakes can sometimes have what’s called a Partho (parthenogenesis) clutch; where they make almost “clones” of themselves. Although it’s rare, I’m off to test the eggs and see if any are holding a baby! (I hope not!)

Wound healing!

No idea how Bean managed this one, but slicing his leg right down the cannon bone was NOT ideal.

He’s coped really well with not being out, we compromised and he is allowed out on the yard just not in the field yet.

These photos show just how well he is healing up, and very quickly!
Stitches on the original wound were not an option as he developed infection. Due to the mud we’re all dealing with and the scab that he naturally produced, it wasn’t until the vet arrived to look at it 2 days after the initial injury that we realised quite how bad it was! Even the vet struggled to see it at first 😬

But the good sign is there’s no proud flesh, no lameness and he’s being very well behaved as always 🥰 not long now till he can go for a run in the field

Life has been SO busy since Christmas- I feel like I’ve been running round non stop; but every morning this lovely girl demands 5 minutes of cuddles before we can go to the field and I value those 5 minutes of calm so much!!

🎆2025🎆
Over and out, let’s hoping 2026 brings me better times!!
I can safely say this has been the most testing year since I started working with horses, I thought 2024 was bad but 2025 kicked my ass!! Through losing clients, gaining new ones, bean trying to off himself at every given opportunity, and 2 YES 2 Cars blowing up in 5 months my sanity was stretched THIN.
However!!!! With the amazing support, understanding and encouragement from all of you I have pushed through, found my love for horses again and most important:
I. DID. NOT. GIVE. UP!
I DID NOT QUIT!!!

I am so thankful to everyone who continues to support me, and allow me to have a full time job caring for all these amazing animals and I hope that support continues in the new year! (And this time hopefully with no car troubles!!!)

Much love to you all and best wishes for everyone to have a prosperous new year 💘
Olivia

If any of my clients have one or know where I can pick one up 😆 it’s for the chickens at my yard! Poor things are stuck in a fair bit of mud atm 🤦🏻‍♀️🐓🐓

1 NOVEMBER 2025: AVIAN INFLUENZA UPDATE

Due to a recent positive case of Avian Influenza (AI) at a poultry farm in Uckfield, our casualty centre has found itself within a 10km surveillance zone.

We have taken on the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) guidelines, and have implemented additional procedures within the centre so we are able to continue admitting casualties.

Please bear with us whist we take extra precautions and follow a strict triage process to protect the casualties we currently have in care.

If you want to find out more information about the breakout and how to report possible cases, please visit: https://Wildlifeambulance.short.gy/AvianInfluenza2025

We’ve restricted comments due to the number of conspiracy theories being shared, which distract from the purpose of this post and our vital work helping wildlife.

We continue to admit casualties and are taking every precaution to prevent the virus from entering our centre — as this could lead to the authorities requiring birds in our care to be culled.

There are other pages and organisations better suited to discussing these wider issues. Thank you for understanding and for supporting our work to protect wildlife. 💚

BEAN VET UPDATE
So as ive been posting on my story, most of you may know what’s been going on, unfortunately in a freak unknown incident Friday night/Saturday morning Bean injured his head in some way. Now being a tb and always coming in with minor wounds I didn’t think too much of it; clean it up and put on some good ol’ purple spray.
Over the next few days Bean had frequent minor nose bleeds. No exertion or pattern as to why, suspected just because of the trauma to his head. 2 emergency vet calls and a call with the clinic it was decided to get him in asap for a scope to see if there was trauma inside his nose.
This scope turned to an ultrasound and then an X-Ray…
A fracture in his skull.

My poor boy has been himself completely, the only sign of pain shown was when touching the area which is expected with any wound. But he has a fracture right in the centre of his skull. 😭
Thankfully, he is expected to heal and other than a banging headache now being treated with some pain relief he will hopefully make a good recovery. I’m heartbroken that my poor boy is having to go through this, and with no knowledge of how this has happened we can’t see if anything needs changing in his routine 😭 but for now he is back home, safe and happy in the field ❤️‍🩹
