We recently found a flea on one of our patients and took a closer look under the microscope. While they may be tiny, fleas can cause big problems for our pets. 🐈 🐕

Fleas can lead to itching, skin infections, hair loss, allergic reactions, and can also transmit worms. That’s why regular flea and worming treatment is so important, even during the cooler months.

Keeping your pet protected helps prevent discomfort, illness, and the spread of parasites in your home.

If you’re unsure whether your pet is up to date with their flea and worm prevention, our team is always happy to help and advise on the best option for your pet. 🐾

Most of us have had our blood pressure taken at the GP but have you ever wondered how it’s done for pets, or what “normal” even looks like for them?🩺🐾

This lovely girl came in for routine bloodwork and a blood pressure check, and she handled it brilliantly. ✨

Regular blood tests help us keep an eye on organ function, spot early signs of illness, and make sure your pet’s general health is on track.

Blood pressure checks are just as important. They can help us detect issues such as kidney disease, heart disease, pain or stress before they cause bigger problems.

And just like humans, some pets need a bit of extra support (and the occasional cuddle) during these procedures. Our team uses calm handling, gentle reassurance and lots of patience to help every pet feel safe and comfortable.

When pets come in for a procedure, our nursing team is with them throughout, keeping a close eye on their comfort, offering gentle reassurance and helping to ease any anxiety while they’re in our care. Owners are also welcome to stay with their pets in recovery to help them settle as they wake up.
