🐾 I'm proud to be joining the Just in Case campaign by the The Muzzle Movement, helping to unite canine professionals in normalising positive muzzle training.

As a groomer who specialises in working with dogs that struggle with grooming due to fear, anxiety, or reactivity, I often get asked why I don't simply muzzle every dog that shows 'challenging behaviour'.

When introduced and used ethically, a muzzle can help keep everyone safe and reduce pressure on a dog. However, putting a muzzle on a dog that hasn't been properly conditioned to wear one can increase stress, damage trust, and make future grooming experiences even harder.

I'm a strong advocate for ethical muzzle training because every dog deserves the opportunity to learn that a muzzle is a positive, predictable piece of equipment rather than something forced upon them in a moment of fear.

To help owners learn more, I now have leaflets available to take home covering ethical muzzle use, training guidance, and how to introduce a muzzle in a way that prioritises your dog's wellbeing and confidence.

Safety and welfare should always go hand in hand. 🐾❤️

🐾 Alfie's First Grooming Appointment 🐾

Today, handsome Alfie the Labrador came in for his very first grooming experience! 💛

We took things nice and slowly, focusing on building positive associations with the grooming environment. A big part of today's session was working on dryer desensitisation, helping Alfie become comfortable with the sound and sensation of the dryer through fun, reward-based enrichment activities. 🐶🎾🦴

By pairing the experience with plenty of treats, sniffing opportunities, and engaging activities, Alfie was able to explore at his own pace and build confidence throughout the session.

Every positive first experience helps lay the foundation for stress-free grooming visits in the future! 💕

📢 Important Update – Returning to Work & Hot Weather Notice ☀️🐾

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has reached out regarding Vic and for all the support, kind messages, and understanding over the last few days. ❤️

Vic has truly defied all the odds and has, so far, been given the all-clear from the vets. We are still taking things one day at a time, but this is fantastic news and we are incredibly grateful.

I am currently working through appointments, contacting everyone whose current appointments can go ahead and contacting everyone who has been affected to arrange re bookings.
However, I do ask for your continued understanding, as last-minute or same-day cancellations may still occasionally be necessary due to the possibility of ongoing veterinary appointments.

As part of Vic's recovery, he can no longer use the stairs, which means I will need to make some changes to how I work for the foreseeable future. Going forward, I will need to meet all owners at the side gate of the property. Due to insurance requirements, owners will unfortunately not be able to walk down the side of the property.

I will also be contacting all new clients, as well as owners who remain with their dogs during appointments, to discuss the available options moving forward.

☀️ Hot Weather Notice ☀️

With temperatures forecast to exceed 30°C over the coming days, the welfare and safety of the dogs in my care must remain the priority. Depending on conditions, I may need to reschedule some appointments, particularly during the hottest parts of the day. I will contact affected clients as soon as possible if any changes are required.

Thank you all once again for your patience, support, and understanding during this time. It means more than you know, and I look forward to seeing you and your dogs again soon. 🐶❤️

I just wanted to put a little message out to everyone.

Over the next week, I will need to cancel all appointments as my beloved dog, Victor, has sadly taken a decline in his health.

Anyone who knows me knows how much Vic means to me, and right now my focus is on making sure I'm there for him and giving him all the love and care he needs.

I will do my best to contact anyone affected as soon as I can, but I will not be replying to messages, enquiries, or appointment requests during this time. I hope you can bear with me during what is a very difficult and emotional time.

Vic comes first right now, and I'm grateful for your patience while I navigate the days ahead ❤️

🐾 Celebrating UK Small Business Week 🐾

Two photos show the empty space where it all began—a vision, a lot of hard work, and a determination to build something different. The other shows what that vision has grown into today.

When I started, not everyone believed this business model would work. I was told that focusing on reactive, nervous, and complex dogs wasn't the path to success. Some suggested I should stick to straightforward haircuts and grooming services instead.

But I believed there was a need for a space where dogs who struggle in traditional grooming environments could be understood, supported, and cared for with patience and compassion. More importantly, so many of you believed in that vision too.

Thank you to everyone who believed in my vision, my ethics, and the way I care for your dogs. Your support has helped turn an idea into a thriving business, and I'm so grateful for every one of you. ❤️
