🔊TEETH CLEANING ASMR🔊 Volume up for this one!

Vet Amy is showing us how she cleans her dog Olive’s teeth each night 🪥 Training teeth cleaning is the best preventative action against dental disease you can do. We know not all pets sit still as well as Olive, but even 20 seconds daily makes a big difference! And getting them trained when they are young will save you a battle when they are older 🤍

Blue-green algae can be toxic to dogs. ☢️

It may appear as scum or green paint on the surface of ponds or lakes, but even a small amount can cause dogs to become seriously ill. Keep them out of water that looks suspicious, and always check for warning signs when out on walks.

❓Did you know❓

Sometimes two vets are better than one! While most of our routine surgeries are performed by one vet (with one nurse working the anaesthetic), some procedures are best in pairs.

These include:
🚨 Emergency surgeries where speed is critical
🦴Orthopaedic surgeries where precision is necessary
🧠Technically challenging surgeries where having more than two hands goes a long way

At Portland House, we are a team who work incredibly closely and coordinate efforts to ensure the best possible outcomes for your pets. Pictured are vets Amy and Rebecca, with nurse Chloe on anaesthetic 🩷

🌟Dog Dental! 🌟

Look at the lovely Olive having her teeth xrayed and cleaned by vet Mike 🦷 The radiographs showed perfectly healthy teeth, so no extractions were needed. Routine teeth cleaning at home, followed by appropriate dental cleaning under anaesthetic is really important to prevent dental disease in our pets, allowing them to keep all their teeth as they age ❤️

Look at gorgeous Elsie causing trouble with our sign! She was an absolute delight last week for her first vet visit 🩷 During her first health check, it was found she did have some mucky ears and was given an appropriate cleaner and mite treatment to help settle them back down. Other than that, she is perfect! We look forward to seeing her for her future vaccines and check ups as she grows 🐾🐕
