🐾 A wee update from In The Dog House East Linton 🐾

We have been welcoming dogs into our home for 9 years now, and we can honestly say it’s the best job in the world. Many of our lovely guests come back time and again, and we are usually booked months in advance – which we are so grateful for ❤️

We wanted to let you all know about a small change. We haven’t increased our daily boarding rate since 2022, but with the rising cost of living (think utilities, insurance, fuel, licensing), we do need to make an adjustment to keep things sustainable.

👉 From 1st September our daily rate will be £36 per dog, per day which is effectively an increase of £2 per year since 2022.

A wee reminder of what makes us a bit different:
🐕 We only take a maximum of 4 dogs at any one time.
🏡 We don’t run a dog walking service on the side – so your dogs get our full care and supervision all day long.
💤 They’re treated as part of the family, with comfort, company, and safety always top of the list.
🌳 We take our dogs on mainly beach and countryside walks - no dog fields unless on the odd occasion we have dogs staying who would not usually get an off lead run around.
🏌️‍♂️We sometimes take our guests for proper days out to the likes of St Andrew’s, Holy Island or Bamburgh. Last week we had a day out at Jupiter art land!!

Keep your dogs safe. They won’t suffer from a day off from their usual walk and no responsible dog walker will mind if you ask for them simply to be let out in the garden rather than driven around in mobile oven!!

A big thanks to auntie Ann and Uncle Chris for looking after little Pops whilst we were on holiday. And also a huge thanks to Neil and Co at Redhouse Rovers Retreat for taking very special care of big Lily.
These two have been taking it easy in the shade today.
It was 30C here.
Too hot for walking and running around of any description so it was all about keeping them calm and cool.

We just don’t risk it with our pups or yours. If it’s too hot for us, it’s definitely too hot for them with their furry coats 🥵😎

🔴 This needs to be seen.
I don’t usually post about other dog businesses unless I can personally recommend them — but in this case, I’m making an exception. This outfit needs exposed.

Yesterday in Edinburgh, nine dogs were traced crammed into what is essentially a tin can — no air conditioning, no water , no bedding, no view from their cages — and being driven around under the guise of a “day’s training.”

They were left sitting like that for hours. It was 26.5 C when I called the SSPCA. Let that sink in.

There’s more to the story — and thankfully, the SSPCA are now involved and making further enquiries.

I’ve spent the past four and a half months gathering evidence leading up to yesterday’s events. It’s been a long road, but finally, action is being taken.

I’ll post a link in the comments to the page I’ve been assisting, where you can see video evidence of how this individual treats dogs and draw your own conclusions.

Unfortunately I’m limited to what questions I can answer due to the ongoing enquiry please know this business is operating the length and breadth of Scotland from Inverness to Jedburgh and everywhere in between.

None of our dogs, visiting or resident, have been walked today. They have popped in the pool, misted with the hose, fanned and shaded. It’s been like herding cats at times but they are all comfortable.

If you receive an email stating your dogs microchip registration is about to expire it’s a scam. All your pets and your details will be there but UK chip registration is a one of payment.
