Good Morning. Thank you to all our wonderful customers that continue to support us through during difficult Financial times for all. Taken from another groomer’s website but still very relevant to us at Hugs4hounds.

This is something I’ve been meaning to write for a while. Often when we quote a price people are shocked. It’s amazing how many people think that we pocket the whole amount. A typical £45 groom that takes around 90/120 mins doesn’t go straight into our pockets. Oh how easy life would be to be earning £30 an hour but this is far from the truth. The minimum wage currently stands a £9.50 per hour. Most groomers take no where near this after all deductions are made. Some are earning less than £4 an hour! So next time your groomer quotes you a price remember out of that price they are covering business costs and trying to earn a living wage. Also, the next time you miss an appointment or cancel last minute remember that small business still has the out going to pay while earning zero! So understand why they charge a missed appointment fee. This isn’t just a hobby to earn some pocket money. This is our career that we continuously train for and take great pride in
