A day in the life of cat sitting 😻

First thing this morning I went to pick up some of Charlie and Ziggy’s favourite food, biscuits and litter. From visiting them before I now know what flavour they like and the exact brands to avoid any disturbance to their usual routine. (This isn’t a requirement of the role, however I am more than happy to help if you’ve had to dart away at last minute! I’ll simply leave the receipt and send a link for easy payment. 😊)

When I arrive it’s time to wash the food bowls and refill them with enough food and water to last until I see them again tomorrow. I also feed the fish too 🐠!

I’ll do a quick check of the property to make sure everything is as it should be: collect any mail, sweep up any stray food or litter and clean up any accidents should there be any 🙀!

Charlie & Ziggy usually take turns each to go in and have something to eat. While one is chowing down, the other is purring away, enjoying lots of cuddles, chases with the laser mouse and anything else that they may need - including being spoiled with some chewy stick treats. 😽

After quality time with the two of them is finished, and I’m satisfied they don’t need me for anything else, I’ll lock up the property and look forward to visiting tomorrow to do it all again! 😺

On the last day of my scheduled visits, I’ll collect the bin with the used pouches etc and take it out. I’ll make sure the property is as it was when I first arrived, and then I’ll lock up and post the keys through your letterbox or leave in a designated place. 🔐

Back with Ziggy and Charlie for a full week! Ziggy is a big purry sook today and I’m getting lots of cuddles! He is the most adorable boy 😻

One of the best things about cat sitting is having recurring customers! You get to build a lovely rapport with your new furry friends and with each visit they become more and more affectionate! Today was Charlie’s turn for cuddles and tummy rubs, but Ziggy couldn’t resist coming home for some too!

Hello! Welcome to No Place like Home. My name is Paula, I’m 32 and a thriller fiction writer from East Kilbride.

I’ve taken care of many cats over the years (including 3 territorial males at the one time!) however the beautiful boy in the pictures attached is the LOVE of my life, Rio.

Rio has been with me since 8 weeks old and is soon coming up for 11 in August. Although an absolutely adoring (often smothering) cat to me, sometimes people are apprehensive about approaching him as he would rather be left alone. The big man is very nervous, hates loud noises, doesn’t like being removed from his home, and tends to fall out with me if I’ve popped out for a couple of hours.

Over the years I have struggled to book holidays or go away on work trips because Rio doesn’t like sleepovers, which gave me the idea of creating No Place like Home.

Instead of uprooting your furry friend, you can now keep them in the comfort of your home, guilt free. I will pop in 1, 2 or 3 times a day depending on what your cat needs. I’ll make sure they are safe, happy, have a clean tray and are well fed. If your pet welcomes attention I’ll be happy to engage, and if not, I’ll respect their space while still tending to their needs.

For added peace of mind, I’ll make sure your home is kept tip-top by opening and closing blinds, collecting mail and taking your bin out if needed.

I understand how important it is that you feel comfortable leaving your pet, so I’m happy to do as many meet and greets as you would like for your cat to become familiar with me.
