💙 Being able to check your horse’s temperature, pulse, and respiration is one of the most valuable skills you can learn as an owner!

Knowing what’s normal for your horse makes it easier to recognize when something isn’t right, and it can save precious time in an emergency. 🚨

💡Practice checking these when your horse is relaxed and healthy. Write them down and keep a record, so if your horse ever seems “off,” you’ll know right away if something seems wrong!

🐴Lameness is one of the most common problems we see in horses, but it isn’t always obvious. Subtle changes in movement or behaviour can be early warning signs that something isn’t right…

Things to look out for
- A shortened or uneven stride
- Reluctance to go forward or work normally
- Head nodding or dipping when trotting
- Uneven hoof wear or dragging of toes
- Changes in behaviour under saddle

Early detection is key – catching lameness at an early stage can make a huge difference to your horses’ comfort and long-term soundness.
If you any of these signs, give us a call to discuss a lameness work up, we have dedicated Lameness Clinics every 4 weeks!
