Met office have issued that as of 19th November temperatures are set to plummet and snow is meant to be forecast so if this is the case and weather becomes bad I won't be out.
Here are some guides for dogs and cold weather
Temperature
Temperatures below -4°C are generally dangerous for dogs. At 5°C or less, some dogs may be at risk of frostbite or hyperthermia.
Breed
Large breeds can walk in -6°C for about 30 minutes, but smaller breeds should limit walks to less than 20 minutes. Lean breeds like whippets or greyhounds are more sensitive to the cold than breeds with thick coats like Siberian huskies.
Age
Very young dogs and older dogs may struggle to regulate their body temperature.
Health
Physical conditions like arthritis or hip dysplasia can be aggravated by the cold.
Dampness
Rain, snow, heavy fog, or swimming can quickly chill a dog.
You can also consider the following tips for walking your dog in the cold:
Walk during the day
It's colder early in the morning and in the evening, so try to walk in the mid-morning or early afternoon.
Check for signs of being too cold
If your dog is shivering, hunched, lifting their paws, whining, or barking, bring them inside. More serious signs include lethargy, weakness, or slowed breathing.
Check for frostbite
Frostbite can affect your dog's tail, paws, and ear tips. If your dog turns pale or blue, take them to a veterinarian.
