This week's Dog of the Week is the wonderful Rover! 🤎

This week marked Rover's last regular weekly session with us as he gets ready for an exciting move to a new country. While we'll miss seeing his lovely face every week, we're so pleased we'll still get to catch up with him from time to time.

Rover is such a character. Quiet, gentle and always happy to stroll in with his tail wagging each morning. But nothing compares to the excitement he shows when his favourite person arrives at the end of the day - his mum! That wagging tail becomes an absolute weapon and it's impossible not to smile watching their reunion ❤️

It's been a pleasure getting to know this handsome boy and watching his sweet personality shine. We wish Rover and his family all the best for their new adventure and can't wait to welcome him back for visits whenever he's in town 💜🐾

Sniffing provides mental stimulation, helps reduce stress and lets dogs gather information about everything that's happened around them 🐶

✨ Holiday Ready for Nico! 🐶💜

Nico had a little pamper session today before heading off on his holiday! 🏖️

He enjoyed a blowout, had his nails trimmed, and had his teeth cleaned 🦷he's looking and feeling his absolute best! ✨

A blowout is a deep grooming treatment using a high-velocity dryer to remove loose undercoat, dirt and dead hair. It's brilliant for reducing shedding, keeping the coat healthy, improving airflow to the skin and leaving your dog looking super fluffy and fresh 🐾

🌟🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK: ROMILLY 🐾🌟

Romilly spent her time with us surrounded by all the usual daycare craziness, including lots of energetic puppies - something she isn't always the biggest fan of! Despite that, she handled herself brilliantly, taking everything in her stride and showing us what a calm and confident girl she is 💜

She was an absolute superstar with all of her treatments too, taking them like a complete pro and making our jobs very easy 💪✨

Special trip to our boy, Blu, today 💜

He had his toe amputated a week ago so we went round to help the healing process with some Red Light Therapy ❣️

He's been through it, bless him 🥹

This week's Dog of the Week goes to the lovely Bertie! 🥰

Bertie has come such a long way since he first started with us and we couldn't be prouder of him. Watching his confidence grow and seeing him become the relaxed, happy boy he is today has been so rewarding.

These days, Bertie takes everything in his stride. He's a gentle soul, loves being around his friends, and is always so happy to greet us in the morning 🐶

It's been wonderful to see him settle in so well and really make himself at home with us. His progress is a reminder that every dog goes at their own pace, and with a little time, patience and support, amazing things can happen 💜

We're so proud of you, Bertie. Keep being your wonderful self! 🐾✨

A couple of our lovely regulars are sadly leaving us due to family relocations overseas (we're going to miss them so much! 🥹✈️), which means we have a few spaces becoming available for new dogs to join the family 🐶

This week, lavender was named the most liked smell in the world. And honestly, we're not surprised! 🌿✨

Lavender has been loved for centuries, not just because it smells amazing, but because of the many benefits it's believed to have too:

💜 Its scent is associated with relaxation and calmness
💜 Many people use it to help reduce stress and promote better sleep
💜 It's thought to help create a sense of wellbeing and comfort
💜 Bees absolutely love it, making it great for supporting local wildlife 🐝

It's one of the reasons you'll spot so much lavender around here. Not only does it look beautiful, but it helps create a calm and welcoming environment for both humans and dogs alike 🐶🌿

Whether it's the gorgeous purple colour, the relaxing scent or the wildlife it attracts, lavender is definitely a favourite of ours.

This week’s Dog of the Week is a little extra emotional… 💜🐾

Beautiful Tasha had her last day with us this week before moving to the beach with her family. We’re so excited for her and know she’s going to have the absolute best adventures living the seaside life 🌊☀️

But goodness… we are going to miss her SO much 🥹

Tasha has been such a sweetheart to have with us and has completely worked her way into our hearts. It’s never easy saying goodbye to dogs who become part of the family.

We love you, Tasha. Don’t forget us when you’re living your best beach girl life 💜🐶

☀️🐾 We hope everyone is keeping cool in this heat! 🐾☀️

While we might enjoy the sunshine, hot weather can be really tough on our dogs. Especially breeds with thick coats, flat faces, puppies and older dogs 🥵

A few little reminders to help keep your pups safe and comfortable:

💧 Make sure they always have access to fresh, cool water
🌳 Walk them early morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler
🔥 Pavements can burn paws - if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet
🍦 Frozen treats, cooling mats and shaded areas can really help
🚫 Never leave dogs in cars, even for a minute

Some signs of overheating can include excessive panting, drooling, tiredness, vomiting or wobbling. If you’re worried your dog may be overheating, contact your vet as soon as possible.

We’ve been making sure all our doggies have plenty of water, cool treats and fun in our temperature controlled doggy den 💜🐶

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine responsibly! ☀️
