It’s said that variety is the spice of life. The last five weeks have certainly been varied.
The goldie was known to us a “Big Handsome Boy “ but he seemed to think he was more of a hedgehog.
If you scratched his bum in just the right place he does a slow motion forward roll and ends up with you tickling his tummy. He was very practiced in the art.
Our next visitor is a lovely regular. She is so happy and energetic she is a joy to walk with. We hadn’t seen her for a while after she picked up an injury but she has been very well nursed back to herself and is such a beautiful girl.
Then something completely new to me - house bears!!
The big chap liked an amble and a sniff but was mainly preoccupied with eating and napping so as to ensure he was completely ready for the next snack.
His little sister was quite different as she loved long, pretty energetic walks in the woods. Snow was an unexpected bonus, letting her lie on what little there was and try to get down to her ideal temperature.
Maybe the house feels slightly bigger now they have gone home but they were both great companions and we all look forward to welcoming them back for their next adventure.
