Our Pet of the Month for September is the very lovely Toby. 💙🐾

Sadly, we said goodbye to Toby earlier this month, which makes sharing him as our winner feel particularly special. Toby was a much loved boy and a familiar face to our team, and we feel lucky to have been a part of his care.

A very deserving winner who will be fondly remembered by all of us at Vetrica 🌈💙🐾

🐾 Let’s talk about spaying 🐾

Lovely Elsie visited our Rosyth practice last week to be spayed, and we thought she was the perfect little face for a quick reminder about why we recommend neutering. 💗

Spaying is a routine procedure that prevents unwanted pregnancies, but there are important health benefits too. Spaying can:

🐾 Prevent pyometra, a potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus
🐾 Prevent ovarian and uterine disease
🐾 Reduce the risk of mammary tumours, particularly when performed at an appropriate age
🐾 Prevent unwanted pregnancies and seasons

The best time to spay isn’t necessarily the same for every dog. Factors including breed, size, age and individual health can all influence when we recommend the procedure.

If you’re unsure when the right time is for your dog, our team is always happy to discuss their individual needs and help you decide. 💜

And a big well done to Elsie, who was an absolute sweetheart to care for during her stay with us! 💗🐾
