***LOOKING FOR A 5* HOME***
NAME: Bella
AGE: 4 years old
LOCATION: SCOTTISH BORDERS
REQUIREMENTS: Can live with dogs, confident cats as long as proper introductions are done and cat savvy kids.
Bella is very friendly, loving and sweet. She has won the heart of every guest who has ever had to stay with her family as she is straight up on their lap asking for strokes. Even folk who claim not to like cats end up liking Bella!
She has a beautiful temperament, she has never shown any form of aggression towards any person and she has always been so gentle with the baby. She is a very trusting girl. She has a close bond with Nova (her current owners dog) and that’s another reason why this is so sad and heartbreaking for them.
She has always gotten on well with the male cats, and could absolutely live with another cat if they were properly introduced. Her current owner feels she could live with an assertive female who didn’t take no nonsense. She could also live with a cat friendly dog and we think she’d be great in a home with children as she currently lives with a young child.
She is four years old. She loves to play with crinkly balls and fishing rod toys. She loves to climb and she can jump an impressive height. She prefers dry food, biscuits, dreamies, etc but will have an occasional nibble of wet. Oddly she won’t touch the usual delights like fish or chicken and she’s not much of a hunter.
The only problem her current owners have had with her health is that she is prone to obstructions. When she was much younger she managed to ingest the string off a fishing rod toy and this caused an obstruction that needed surgery. She recovered fine from the surgery but it was a lesson learnt to be careful with what you leave out. No string, ect. When her current owners play with the fishing rod toy they put it away where she can’t get it. The obstruction issue can be kept under control by ensuring she does not chew or ingest items she shouldn't be. She uses the litter tray fine, but her new owners are going to be very lucky people.
Unfortunately Bellas brother was mauled by a dog outside of their home (we shared the news article at the time). Unfortunately, Bella has taken to picking on the timid older female cat within the household and despite pushing to make changes and help her adapt to the loss of her brother for over 18months, her owners just feel that she is now unhappy and needs a new family who can help her
If you are able to offer the lovely Bella a loving 5* home, please get in touch.
Home checks will be conducted in person following the guidelines on covid. Our volunteers will also be required to wear masks at all times. A rehoming fee of £50 will be required on completion of a successful home check, which will be donated to another rescue who are still operational to help further cats in care.
