Just a wee hello for all the new followers on the page, we are basically celebs now. 🥲🤣
Im mhairi (vari) the founder and owner of take the lead. I created my little business back in 2019 whilst still working full time, in 2020 I decided to reduce my FT permanent jobs hours to part time so I could start walking in the afternoons.
In 2021 I grew some balls and jumped 2 feet into self employed life... then 3 months later the world shut down. But I carried on, because some needed help that never would of before. 🌎
In 2021 I started doing weddings after being asked by a client to help on hers and I actually loved the whole idea and aspect of it. I did 3 weddings in 2021 and 6 in 2022…💍💒
This year I’ve got 26 booked until September, and have a passionate staff of 2 to help me when I get multiple same day bookings Sarah x 2 … not confusing at all 🧐🤣
I absolutely LOVE bringing people’s babies to them at their weddings it’s genuinely an honour.🎖️
I still dog walk full time and brought on the amazing Sarah in 2023 because I couldn’t take any new clients and hated to turn folk away🚪
We have around 40 weekly regular clients and our own vans on the road (Sarah’s is the grey take the lead van, mines blue)🩶💙
I am not a perfect business owner, I struggle with my mental health. I have ADHD and PMDD. And that has its own implications in day to day running of a business but also physically it takes a toll on me. For someone who’s “healthy” im very rarely “100% well”🤣🥹
But I can promise you that I will love all the dogs in my care the way I do my own, I love them so much. I’m also so lucky that my clients are some of the kindest and most thoughtful people you could meet, it makes what I do easy😍
Im just a 19 year old trapped in a 32 year olds body, trying to do what I love whilst making life easier for others where I can. I have 3 dogs of my own , although 1 lives with his dad and I know how important they are to me and that’s why I know and understand as an owner the respect my clients have for trusting me with their pups.
Anyway, there’s a little insight into what “I’m all about”. Thanks for the follow ✌🏼
