With King's eye sight failing, 1 to 1's has evolved. We had a herding dog, lead the pack. The collie's internally motivated behaviour (stereotypical), is to follow/herd, therefore leading both physically and mentally exhausted the animals 🥰, due to having to utilize new skills and a new social structure. They did amazing together, Vincent is now copying herding behaviour.

Reactivity Training with dominant breeds. These dogs are natural rivals due to their body language and scent. However with a 10minute side by side walk, we managed to lower the 'barking radius' and acheive the '3second greeting'. This ritualistic step is The first greeting ritual of accepting one another into their pack.

A great first step, after the 3seconds seperating immediately from one another by extending the knee forward and then outwords, therefore breaking the eye contact (staring), and then walking on, turn and try try try again. Patience will pay off i promise you.

Dependant on the breed and environment/ distractions, the longer the acceptance will take but rest assured each successful attempt is a babystep towards the perfect dog 🐕 ❤ , play will come after their 'strict social hierarchy' is adhered to.

Pacifying gestures(leg raise) are used to desolve conflict, showing a friendly (submissive) gesture to the wolf that is bearing teeth (dominant display). These geatures, maintain their status within a strict social hierarchy.
