It absolutely breaks our hearts to write this, but Tenby passed away peacefully this morning. At a grand age of 30yr old!

For those of you who knew him, you’ll understand just how special he was. Tenby wasn’t just a pony — he was family. He was brodies best friend’s pony and was so kindly gifted to us by Lois when she grew too tall for him. From that moment on, he became such a huge part of our lives and the heart of the yard.

For years, he patiently and lovingly taught so many children to ride. He carried nervous beginners on their very first lessons, gave confidence to those who doubted themselves, and proudly popped around small courses with riders beaming from ear to ear. He had the kindest soul and the biggest heart, and he gave every child the best start possible.

He shaped so many memories, built so much confidence, and quietly changed so many little lives without ever asking for anything in return.

The yard won’t be the same without him. He leaves such a huge space behind, especially for his best buddy Broxie, who adored him.

Run free, Tenby. Thank you for everything. You will be missed more than words can say. 🤍

I’ve received some registrations, but there’s still time to send yours in if you haven’t already.

For everyone who has submitted their forms, please get in touch with two available time slots over Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I’ll then create a lesson schedule so that you’ll have the same time slot each week.

🛑Riding Club Reopening – Your Interest Matters!🛑

We are excited about the possibility of reopening our riding club, but we need to gauge interest before moving forward. Reopening will depend on how many riders are interested in joining our club.

What’s is included in the packages

Riding lessons:

1. Riding: Regular practice of different riding techniques and exercises.
2. Goal Setting with Coach: Personal progress planning, where riders set short- and long-term goals with their coach to improve their skills.
3. Competitions: Preparing and participating in on-site r competitions, testing the riders ability and progression.
4. Balance Work: Exercises that improve the riders core strength, coordination, and overall stability while riding.
5. Position/Seat Training: Focus on developing the proper riding position, such as posture, leg position, hand placement, and effective seat aids.
6. Pole Work: Using poles to help riders develop better rhythm, balance, and control over their horses.
7. Jumping: For advanced riders, focused training on techniques for jumping

Stable Management:

1. Badge System: Riders can work through a system of certifications that track their progress in various skills, such as care, riding, and knowledge of horses.
2. Leading: Teaching riders to lead a horse safely and confidently.
3. Mucking Out: Learning the important task of cleaning stables and caring for a horses environment.
4. Feeding: Understanding the nutritional needs of horses and how to properly feed them.
5. Learning Different Equipment and Uses: Knowledge of various tack and equipment such as saddles, bridles, grooming tools, etc.
6. Horse First Aid: Basic equine first aid, understanding common injuries, and how to respond effectively.
7. Jump Course Building/Distances: Training riders in building safe, correct jump courses and understanding distances for jumping.

WHY THE CHANGE OF APPROACH ?

As we move forward, we’re making a strategic shift to a riding club model to provide greater suitability and predictability in our training schedules. This change is necessary to ensure that our riders, both new and experienced, continue to receive the best possible instruction and support in a way that fits our evolving needs.

Unfortunately,
I have (Jo) recently been diagnosed with health problems that prevent me from committing to the same level of involvement as I once did. Whilst I will still be a key part of our community, my role will transition into more of a behind-the-scenes position for the time being but will continue to be a source of knowledge and support, just in a different capacity moving forward.

Additionally, Brodie’s commitment to competing has significantly increased. With her growing competitive schedule, it’s crucial for us to implement a more structured, regular timetable to accommodate both Brodie’s competition commitments and the needs of all other riders. This allows us to balance the demands of competition with ensuring a consistent, well-organized environment for everyone involved.

To support this transition, we’re excited to introduce two new instructors who will be working alongside Brodie and Jo. These new instructors will provide additional support, especially as Jo takes a more advisory and behind-the-scenes role. They will ensure that the riding club runs smoothly, providing consistent instruction, a stable atmosphere, and more one-on-one attention to riders.

With these changes in place, we’re confident that we’ll be able to continue offering quality riding instruction in a more predictable and sustainable manner for everyone, ensuring the long-term success of both the club and the riders.
