You know how much Max and I love a training challenge. I should probably be working on fine tuning that delivery now he’s got the hang of delivering to hand pretty fluently. But here we are!
This week we saw Gladrock Gundogs doing a training challenge and I’ve never done this exercise before so thought we’d give it a crack!
The challenge was supposed to have the second dummy dropped in front of him on his return but I decided to throw it over him today to make it a bit easier to start with. Once he’s got the hang of it we can move up to doing it the way it was intended!
Really happy with this for a first attempt though! Not bad for a little rescue dog and some Fundog training! 🥹 forever and eternally proud of how far Max has come since I adopted him and how utterly resilient he is 🐾

We love a training challenge! This one was a step up for Max and this attempt was the best and final one of our 20min training session where we broke it down into stages and built up to this one.
It highlighted a few handling mistakes for me which is great - gives me something to improve!
Not bad for a fundog ❤️

Max was wondering if you're coming in to see him at the shop this weekend? He's all stocked up on treats and he's helped us to choose some really good dog gear for your summer adventures
All dogs are 100% welcome in here - Max stays safely behind the counter so he can keep an eye on his staff.
He has requested a pup cup station but we're not convinced - what do you think?

A very short session today working on Max’s confidence. He has a couple of dummies we use all the time and I’ve found he struggles when I change them. So we’re having some short sessions on easy, marked retrieves using a mixture of dummies. Once I get a complete pattern on one, I move to the next and then close the session on a high note!
He’s smashing it ❤️ wouldn’t pick up anything but socks this time last year. Super proud of this guy.
