☀️ Hot weather salon update - please read☀️

Living in Scotland I’m sure most of us are excited to finally see some sunshine and not rain 🥳

However as dog owners we all know the warnings for heat stroke in dogs, it’s very real and potentially life threatening.

I do everything I can to keep the salon cool for doggy’s coming for their grooms

Blinds closed
Cool baths
Driers on cold or cool settings
Extractor fan on
Desk fans in front of shop and back
Fresh water readily available

However due to the location of the salon the sun does hit the big front window later in the afternoon and it can build up quite a lot of heat

The majority of my days finish at 3pm but appointments later in the day will only go ahead weather dependent. If the temperature is deemed too hot to safely groom I will have to reschedule. I’d rather come in on a day off than risk a dog overheating.

Dogs arriving with signs of heat stress will be rescheduled.
Dogs showing heat stress during groom - the groom will be stopped, first aid administered and asked to be collected with the groom incomplete

A wee tip if you are walking or traveling by car to the salon is to wet your dog down before setting off, put your air con on full to keep them cool before arriving

Elderly, overweight or flat faced (brachycephalic) dogs are most at risk. If you have concerns about your dog prior to grooming please get in touch

Hi All,

I have a wee break this week to spend Easter with my wonderful family.

On my return there will be a slight price increase to some of my services. I wanted to try hold off from increasing this year but unfortunately everything has gone up in price and it’s just not something I can absorb as a small business.

I want to thank everyone for sticking with me over the winter. For understanding when reply’s have been slow and for showing me kindness and care whilst checking in with me to see how I’m doing.

Im hoping I have managed to get back to everyone but if I have missed you please do get in touch

The only way to describe the last 4 months has been heavy, I’ve carried the deepest sadness In my chest. There’s been days I didn’t want to get out of bed. But turning up and seeing happy little faces and wagging tails has kept me putting one foot infront of the other and pushing forward hoping for some brighter days.

Missing my mum is an ache I will carry for the rest of my life, she was my best friend the person I’d go to if I was happy, sad or just needed some company. My biggest supporter and always there to help when I needed it. So my new “normal” has been a tough adjustment.

Brighter days are coming, sunshine lifts everyone’s spirits and life goes on. Im grateful for everyone in my life, family, friends and supportive clients. You all mean the world to me 💕

Those of you looking for a groomer Regan still has some spaces.
Please do try to get booked in somewhere else. I appreciate some people wanting to wait but your dogs comfort is my priority. Waiting does put your dog at risk of matting and could make their next grooming visit more stressful if they have gone 4-6 weeks over schedule. More hair = longer drying time and more tugs to be brushed out or in some cases shaved down

(Important Update)

Hi everyone, below I have attached a calendar with my remaining availability for the month of December. As you can see I am getting very busy and have only a handful of appointments left on certain days. So if you are yet to book in please have a look at the remaining dates and message me with when you would like to come in. I’m very grateful for you all keeping me so busy.

With saying that, I have also in the last few weeks unfortunately had an increasing amount of no show appointments! This is incredibly frustrating, as with it being the busiest time of the year I am now turning away potential new clients as I simply don’t have lots of space left.
I completely understand it is also the busiest time of the year for all of you too and mistakes happen, I make them myself as some of you know and I’m learning about running a business everyday!
However, no showing an appointment with no message or explanation leaves me stuck with valuable appointment slots. Where I am losing out on earnings and time that I could have offered to someone else and their dog.
❗️A reminder that if you do not show up to an appointment with no cancellation or notice, 50% of the Full Groom appointment price must be paid before another appointment can be booked. ❗️

I really hate writing this as so many of you are great with giving me notice on cancellations, and being patient with my mistakes or rescheduling, which I really am grateful for! However this is also my way of income.
I will try my best to message a reminder to everyone on the days leading up to your appointment. Sometimes it is harder as I get busier, with the higher volume of customers coming in and longer days etc.
If you ever need to confirm your appointment date at anytime PLEASE message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can with all the info.
