We love how proud Dug looks after another cracking hoopers session tonight.

🐾 Training Tip Tuesday: Charging the Marker 🐾

Ever heard your trainer talk about “charging the marker”? 💬✨ It might sound technical, but it’s a simple foundation skill that can supercharge your dog’s learning! 🔋🐶

✅ A marker is a sound or word (like “yes!” or a click) that tells your dog, “You got it right, and a reward is coming!”

But before it means anything, we have to charge it—pairing it with a treat over and over, so your dog learns it’s a promise of something good. 🍗💖

➡️ Example: Say “yes!” and immediately give a treat. Do this 10–15 times in a row, and soon your dog’s ears will perk up every time they hear that word!

🔑 This step builds clear communication and helps your dog learn faster, with more confidence and joy.

Our Thursday night puppy group started working on their stationing skills tonight.

This will form a foundation for lots of useful life skills, including:

🐾 Wait
🐾 Stay
🐾 Settle
🐾 Break / release cue
🐾 Impulse control

They all did absolutely amazing and can’t wait to see their progress next week
