‼️VETS FOR PETS MERRY HILL‼️
I took my 3 kittens here today for their jabs & microchips. The vet took all 3 into the back room because I weren’t comfortable watching (I wish I did now). She came out with two kittens in the carrier then told me that Pearl went into shock due to the microchip. I didn’t understand why this had happened and asked why, she then told me that she may have an underlining health condition that I weren’t aware of. She then plonked my lifeless kitten on the table wrapped in a towel, in-front of my 5 year old son and told me I needed to take her to the vet hospital in Westbrom (also vets for pets). I told them I didn’t drive and I weren’t able to do that with my son and 2 other kittens. I then went out to ring my dad who was at work at the time, I came back and they’d put her out the back, told me she was on fluids and they were stabilising her. Couple hours went by and they’d told me she was stable but needed to go to Westbrom. Again, told me she went into shock but this time it was because of the needle. I weren’t comfortable transferring her as she weren’t moving and was barley opening her eyes, I was worried she would die in the car especially it being a 20 minute drive. Despite my fear there was no other option. On the way there my gut told me not to take her there, I felt like they were hiding something from me. So I brought her to another vet, I weren’t bothered about the money I just didn’t want to be fobbed off, I wanted to know what had happened to my happy healthy beautiful kitten. The vet I brought her to rang vets for pets at merry hill to find out what had happened, they told them that Pearl had moved during them putting the microchip in. I weren’t aware of this so they lied to me. They tried to tell me she had gone into shock and it may be an underlining health condition which was far from the truth. I then rang them and explained I weren’t happy and this shouldn’t have happened, they told me it’s a common risk but never thought to tell me about these risks beforehand otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. I put my trust in them, and thought they would be trained enough to hold a small kitten down while the procedure. The chip had entered her spine and basically paralysed my poor baby. Despite spending thousands nothing could’ve helped her. I’m heart broken and will never get over this. Rest in paradise my beautiful Pearl, you will forever be loved and never forgotten. This shouldn’t have happened to you. Vets4Pets Merry Hill
