This afternoon started with Nellie proudly greeting me at the door, toy in tow, as if it was the most important thing she needed to show me. Moments like that never fail to make me smile. Then it was coats on and out for our walk. Rocco was more than ready for the adventure, while Nellie needed a little convincing at first 🙊 but once we got going, they were both in their element, noses busy and tails wagging as they explored the world one sniff at a time.

When we got home, Nellie very politely reminded me that the post-walk snack was an essential part of the routine. 😂🙈 we had some playtime and of course treats. After that, it wasn’t long before both pups had settled down, sleepy and content after their adventures.

What gets me most isn’t the walks or the playtime, it’s the bond that’s quietly growing between us. A couple of weeks ago, we were still getting to know each other, and now I’m greeted with excitement, trust, and familiar little rituals that make every visit feel special. There is something incredibly touching about being welcomed so wholeheartedly by animals.

Nellie following me to the door when it’s time to leave gets me every single time. That little face watching me go is enough to break even the toughest heart. And Rocco is usually far too cosy in bed to make much of a fuss, I like to think that’s his own way of saying he feels safe and content.

It’s amazing how much love can be found in the simplest moments, a toy proudly carried over, an excited greeting, a gentle nudge for a treat, or a sleepy pup curled up after a good walk. These two have found a place in my heart far quicker than they could ever know, and I feel so lucky to be part of their days, even in a small way❤️🥰

I used to avoid walking in the rain. Now, it’s where I find peace. Just me, a happy dog, muddy puddles, and a reminder that beauty often lives in the weather we once wished away🌧️ 🐾

A wet road. Muddy paws.
And a grateful heart ♥️

🐾 A lifetime in the making…

Some of my earliest memories are filled with muddy paws, wagging tails, gentle noses, and the comfort that only animals can bring.

Looking back at these photos, I realise that my love for animals wasn’t something I learned, it was something I was lucky enough to grow up with. From a very young age, I felt a special connection with them, finding friendship, joy, and understanding in their company.

It’s amazing how the passions we carry as children often become the paths we follow as adults. What began as a little girl’s fascination with animals has become a purpose, a privilege, and a career that I truly cherish.

Every animal I meet still reminds me of that little girl in these photos - curious, compassionate, and happiest when surrounded by furry friends. And honestly, not much has changed. ❤️

Thank you to all the wonderful pets and people who continue to be part of this journey. Here’s to a lifetime of love, trust, and wagging tails. 🐶✨

From cloudy skies to sunshine, then rain, and back to sunshine again, today felt a little like life itself. 🌤️🌦️☀️

The weather changed its mind more than once, but these two happy little souls embraced every moment of the adventure. We managed to dodge the rain, soak up the sunshine, and make it home just before the heavens opened again… although I’m fairly certain neither of them would have cared either way! 🐾

There’s something quietly profound about dogs. They don’t worry about what’s coming next or dwell on what’s already passed. They simply greet each moment with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. Whether the skies are bright or grey, they remind us that happiness isn’t found in perfect conditions, it’s found in sharing the journey with those we love.

The best company on any walk, in any weather, every single time 🐶🐾

Mornings in Hillsborough Forest just hit different.

An hour in the woods with Milo, wandering around the lake while the world is still waking up. The trees don’t care about deadlines, the ducks don’t care about emails, and Milo’s biggest concern is whether that stick is better than the last stick.

There’s something profound about starting the day this way. The birds negotiating their morning shift changes, and a dog reminding you that every puddle is an opportunity and every new scent is breaking news.

People ask what I do for work. I walk dogs.

And honestly, I think I might have the best job in the world.

While everyone else is sitting in traffic, I’m watching sunlight filter through ancient trees with a four-legged colleague who thinks I’m a genius for knowing where the treats are kept.

Just me, Milo, the lake, and a daily reminder that happiness is usually much simpler than we make it. 🥰🐾🐶

Mungo’s morning started exactly as it should - paws up, face kisses, and the biggest welcome a girl could ask for! 🐾😘❤️

We headed off for our walk and, although the rain stayed away, that didn’t stop Mungo from seeking out every single wet patch of grass he could find. 😂🌿

Watching him bounce around, sniffing, exploring, and generally living his best wee life always puts a smile on my face. 🥰

After I left I received a lovely photo of him stretched out on the sofa, snoozing away! Safe to say Mungo had a great morning… and possibly had the wettest head in Banbridge! 💚🐶

First walk with Bear 🐻❤️

Today I had the absolute pleasure of taking this beautiful boy out for his first walk with me, and what an unforgettable adventure it was.

Bear is everything his name suggests, a giant of a dog with a heart just as big. From the moment we set off, he filled the walk with joy, enthusiasm, and that wonderful, gentle presence that only special dogs seem to have. We spent our time running, exploring, and enjoying the fresh air up the mound in Dromore, and despite his impressive size, he moved with such happiness and spirit.

There is something truly remarkable about dogs like Bear. Behind that powerful frame is the softest soul, full of kindness, trust, and affection. It didn’t take long for this handsome boy to completely steal my heart.

After all the fun and excitement, our friendly giant was thoroughly worn out. By this evening I had a text that Bear had claimed his spot on the sofa and was fast asleep, dreaming no doubt of grassy fields and another day of adventure. Seeing such a big, strong dog completely relaxed and content is one of life’s simplest and greatest pleasures.

What a privilege it was to spend time with this massive, beautiful, soft-hearted boy. I already can’t wait for our next adventure together. 🐾❤️
