I’ve been very quiet on social media of late. Some of you know that this year has been a very difficult one for me for many reasons.
At the beginning of August we found a lump on Winnie’s ear which turned out to be cancer, he had it removed from his right ear by the wonderful team at Aldgate vets in Driffield. Not only did he have to recover from that he also developed an eye ulcer which ruptured on the same day as his ear operation, we flew to Paragon vets in Wakefield where we were given two options 1. To remove his eye or 2. To operate and save it. We chose option number 2 and thank god we did.
Today Winnie has been for his chemotherapy which he is having weekly up until the new year to hopefully keep things at bay. The picture below really captures his personality, he’s responding well to his treatment which fills me with hope.
Not only were we dealing with this we then had to make the difficult decision to say good bye to our beautiful boy Lenny, very unexpectedly after routine dental surgery and feel I never really properly grieved for him.
Life has been really difficult and in the midst of all of this and a whole lot more of sh@ that came our way I’m not ashamed to admit I had a nervous breakdown and literally could not function on a daily basis.
Im not entirely sure why I’m writing this post, maybe this is part of my healing but I do want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me and Anna through this difficult time you know who you are.
Life has its up and its downs but with the right people and the right support life can also be quite amazing.
Much love to anyone who is struggling right now ❤️
