🎆🐾 Fireworks Night Pet Safety Tips from Muttleys! 💙
Fireworks might be fun for us, but they can be really scary for our furry friends. Here are some simple yet important ways to keep your pups safe, calm, and happy tonight:
⭐ Keep pets indoors — Fireworks can be loud and unpredictable, and even the most confident dogs can get startled by sudden bangs or flashes. Keep windows and doors closed to muffle the sound and prevent them from bolting if they get frightened.
⭐ Create a quiet space — Set up a cozy den or crate in a quiet part of the house with their favourite blanket or toy. Having a familiar, safe spot to retreat to helps them feel secure when things get noisy outside.
⭐ Provide distractions — Give them something fun to focus on, like a stuffed Kong filled with yoghurt, peanut butter, or a special treat. Gentle background noise, such as calming classical music or a TV left on low, can also help drown out the sounds of fireworks.
⭐ Check IDs and microchips — If the unexpected happens and your pup gets spooked, having up-to-date tags and microchip information can make all the difference in getting them home safely. Take a moment to double-check that everything is current before the evening begins.
⭐ Walk them early — Get your dog’s exercise in before dark. A nice long walk or play session earlier in the day can help tire them out, making it easier for them to rest once the fireworks start.
🎶 At Muttleys, we always play calming classical music during nap time — it helps soothe and relax our pups, especially on nights like this when the world outside can feel a bit too loud.
💛 Let’s all do our part to keep our four-legged friends safe, calm, and loved tonight. They trust us to make them feel secure — and a little extra care goes a long way. 🐶✨
