Maternity leave Hello, and welcome to Dog in the Country Grooming & Spa! Let me introduce myself, I am Chessie - founder of Dog in the Country.

I have loved animals since life began, commonly wandering off and being found cuddling some furry creature somewhere. I've had quite the adventure in the animal industry, not only finding my passion for dogs whilst managing boarding kennels, but also caring for horses, farm animals, small mammals & reptiles, with one of my most fulfilling roles volunteering as a Wildlife Rescuer for East Sussex WR

AS. In terms of education, I have obtained a FdSc degree in Animal Behaviour & Welfare, Level 3 in Animal Management, but most importantly my City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Dog Grooming, completed in 2020. Since then, my passion for dog grooming has grown exponentially, and I'm excited to begin this new adventure.

I cannot put into words how proud I am of little Presley. He’s a rescue I’ve been working with for about 9 months now, initially I wasn’t able to touch him at all without a muzzle, and trimming his face was completely out of the question. Fast forward to now, I can touch his legs, clip his nails, and trim his face without so much as a grumble. Love this little boy and so proud of how far he has come 🩵
