Independent, family-run vet practice in Dordon, providing modern medicine and traditional values including home visits for local dogs, cats, rabbits and small furries.

We would like to let everyone know that, as a mark of respect for Alistair, we have made the decision to close the practice on the day of his funeral - Saturday, 6th of June.

We expect the funeral procession to pass by the practice between 4:50pm and 5:10pm. We will provide further updates if we receive a more specific time.

About Alistair's funeral
Firstly, I sincerely thank our clients and friends for all the messages, cards, beautiful flowers, and your thoughts about Alistair in The Book of Condolences. Your kindness and generosity has supported us all more than you may know since his untimely death.

The Wilson’s Vet Practice Team continue Alistair’s work to provide a service for Dordon and the area. They are amazing people! They are coping with loss, sadness and change with such courage.

Alistair’s funeral will take place
on
Saturday, 6th June, 5.45p.m.
at
Heart of England Crematorium
Nuneaton

We will travel through Polesworth and Dordon, stopping very briefly at The Practice, before the journey to Nuneaton.

Afterwards, refreshments will be served at Austrey Village Hall, near The Bird in Hand Pub. Everyone is welcome.

Alistair was in a pink phase when he set up The Practice so we are giving a nod to his choice, some more than others no doubt!

Family flowers only thank you.

We would like to once again thank everyone for their kind words and support over the past few days. It has meant more to us than we can express.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful community standing behind us during this time.

Our sincere thanks also go to all the local veterinary practices who have cared for our patients, with special appreciation to The STAR Vet Clinic for their exceptional support.

We are pleased to share that we will be reopening on Monday and continuing Alistair’s legacy. As we settle back in, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding while we adjust.

We truly look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday.

Thank you to everybody who came to visit today to sign our book of condolences. We are truly overwhelmed by the lovely comments. The practice will be open between 9am and 12pm tomorrow for anyone else wishing to pop in and sign it.

We are deeply grateful for the kind messages, prayers, and support we have received during this difficult time. Your words have brought comfort and strength at such a time where it is needed most, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you who have reached out.

We are currently in contact with Companies House and are awaiting further direction.
We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this time. We will be back up and running as soon as we are able to do so, as Alistair would have wanted us to continue his legacy. Thank you for standing by us🤍

It is with great pain that we have to announce that Alistair tragically died today.
As of now we are closed. The phones will remain open. Please only call for emergencies, all appointments are cancelled.
Star Vets have kindly agreed to take any urgent cases and we can send any history’s as needed 01530 270170
Please bear with us while we try to come to terms with the loss of our dear friend.

We've had an older Female Tortoiseshell cat bought into us this morning after being hit by a car on Fairfields Hill, Polesworth. Unfortunately the cat has no microchip or collar. We are trying to locate an owner. Please contact the surgery if you know the owner of this cat.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all our customers and their pets.

We are clocking off for a festive rest.

I will be on call until 4pm Xmas Eve then Minitevet at Donnington will be covering our out-of-hours (Willows are also available for those who prefer) until 9am on Saturday... we will open on Saturday 9am until lunchtime.

Please call our normal number and you will be redirected accordingly.

If you have transport issues please try Animals at Home North Warwickshire on 03301331198 who may be able to assist with transportation.

We will open as normal Monday and Tuesday 29th and 30th then until 2pm NYE.

Closed New Years Day with Minitevet on call.
