We provide routine and emergency veterinary care for all types of horses and ponies across Dorset and South Somerset. We have a purpose built equine clinic with surgical and hospitalisation facilities at Whitcombe as well as fully mobile diagnostic services.

The boys are on the way to Aviemore! Just gone past the best Loch in Scotland! Loch Insh Outdoor Centre hoping they get a good nights sleep before day 7 tomorrow!

BREAKING NEWS: Local Men Mistake Midlife Crisis for Endurance Event 🚴‍♂️

Next week our vet Graham and a small group of (other) middle-aged men are cycling LEJOG — from Land’s End to John O’Groats — covering more than 100 miles a day for 8 consecutive days.

For context, that’s roughly the equivalent of cycling until your legs submit a formal letter of resignation.

Why?

A fair question.

The answer is Archie’s Warriors (https://www.archieswarriors.com/) a wonderful charity that helps create special memories and experiences for children facing long-term hospital treatment. While we’ll be battling hills, headwinds and saddle sores, many families face challenges far greater than anything we’ll encounter on a bike.

So we’re swapping comfort for lycra (a decision nobody asked to see) and taking on one of Britain’s toughest cycling challenges.

Over the course of the ride, we expect:
🚴 Several million pedal revolutions
🚴 An unhealthy relationship with flapjacks
🚴 At least one mechanical breakdown
🚴 Multiple emotional breakdowns
🚴 Discussions about whose knees hurt most
🚴 A dramatic increase in the sales of chafing cream

Medical experts agree that men of our age should stay active.

We’re not entirely convinced they meant this active.

Please support us as we attempt to cycle the length of Britain powered by determination, friendship, stubbornness and the more than the occasional bacon sandwich.

Every donation will help Archie’s Warriors continue creating precious memories for children and families who deserve every bit of support we can give.

We are excited to have a new vet starting with us at the beginning of July 😀. She is relocating from Hampshire and is looking for stabling / livery with good turn out and use of a school for 2 horses 🐴
She is also after some accommodation for herself 🏠

Christmas is almost upon us!!🎄
If you require medication to tide you over the Christmas and New Year, please make sure that you order it by 5.30 pm Monday 22nd December so we can ensure it has been approved by the vet and dispensed ready for you to collect. The office will be closing at 3.00 pm on Christmas Eve and re opening on Monday 29th December at 8.30 am.
