Good morning everyone. Our annual Dog Show is taking place on Sunday 5th July and details will be published soon. Preparations are well on the way! Lots of stalls and refreshments for you to experience too. We are currently looking for anyone who could offer us donations of bottles for our bottle stall. It can be anything in a bottle so any surplus items or unwanted gifts would be gratefully received. Thankyou. Also teddies for our Teddy Stall ..do you have any bears who might be looking for a new home that could be used to raise funds for our animals? That would be amazing. Thankyou. Any donations can be dropped into the Sanctuary between 9-4 daily, 1-4 Saturday and 9-4 Sunday. This will help tremendously. THANKYOU SO MUCH.

🌸 Special Appeal: Comfort & Sofas for Sandy 🌸
We are seeking a truly special home for an incredibly special dog.
Sandy is a beautiful 7-year-old Lurcher who has recently received a heartbreaking terminal cancer diagnosis. While her time is limited, her capacity to love is not. We are determined to get her out of kennels and into a warm, cosy home where she can spend her remaining time surrounded by comfort.
About Sandy:
The ultimate lounge lizard: Sandy’s absolute favourite things in life are people, comfy sofas, tasty treats and lying in the sun.
The perfect companion: She is a gentle, affectionate soul who just wants to be by your side.
Her Ideal Foster Home:
Adult-only: She needs a peaceful, quiet environment to rest. A secure garden with equally secure 5ft fencing.
No other pets: Sandy wants to be the centre of your world and have all the couch space to herself.
Location: Ideally near the Doncaster area for easy access to our veterinary partners.
Full Support Provided:
We know that fostering a palliative dog is an emotional journey, and we want to remove any financial worry. All veterinary costs and medical treatments for Sandy will be fully covered by the rescue. Your only job is to provide the sofas, the sunshine spots, and the love.
Fostering a dog like Sandy is a profound act of kindness. You will be giving her the greatest gift possible: a peaceful, dignified, and love-filled end to her story.
If you can open your heart and your home to Sandy, please reach out immediately.
📩 Contact: [email protected] , via our Facebook Messenger Service or by calling 01302 711330.
Please share Sandy's story. Let's find her the perfect sofa to rest her head on. Thankyou.💔🐾

It’s been hot today and it’s forecast even hotter tomorrow. Please keep your dogs safe and share with others. 🌞

🌡️ Heatwave incoming — and if you’re feeling it, your dog definitely is too 🐶☀️
Hot weather can become dangerous for dogs very quickly, especially for puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds, and pets with underlying health conditions.
As temperatures rise, remember:
💧 Keep fresh water available at all times
🌳 Walk early morning or later evening when it’s cooler
🔥 Avoid hot pavements — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
🏠 Keep pets cool indoors and out of direct heat
🚨 Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse.
If you have any concerns your pet might be suffering from heatstroke, bring them into the surgery without delay: https://www.thepetvet.co.uk/contact/?utm_source=facebook...
