Putting it all together on a map.

Thinking of buying a horse?

Amazing. Love that for you.

Just a tiny heads-up…

You are not buying a pet.

You are signing up for:

A second full-time job
A very large emotional toddler
A long-term relationship with mud
And a direct debit to the universe

You’ll say things like:

“I’ll just pop to the yard for half an hour.”

Lies.

“I won’t need much stuff.”

More lies.

Suddenly your horse will need rugs for:

Rain
No rain
Cold
Mild cold
Wind
Vibes
Emotional support
And because “this one fits better”

You’ll become weirdly fluent in poo.

You’ll smell rain before the Met Office.

You’ll stand in a field at 6am wondering how your life got here.

And you’ll be deeply attached to an animal who can injure themselves on air.

Holidays will now involve:

Finding cover
Feeling guilty
Checking the yard WhatsApp
Zooming in on photos
And wondering if they miss you.

They don’t.

But then…

There’ll be that look.

That soft nose.

That quiet moment where they choose you.

And suddenly it all makes sense.

The mud.
The money.
The madness.

So yes.

Buy the horse.

Just know you’re also buying a lifestyle, a personality trait, and a very muddy soul connection.

😂🐴💛

Family time, sat in our little mini woodland in the paddocks 🌿🐎🌳

Finished off perfectly with a cheeky wander over the fence to the cricket club for a couple of drinks 🍻😆

💩 The power of poo picking! It might not be glamorous, though it's one of the most effective ways to protect your horse’s health and it is backed by research.

📚 Studies have shown that managing your grazing land by regular poo picking significantly reduces the number of infective parasite larvae on pasture which reduces the risk of infection and helps break the worm lifecycle before it can impact your horse.

🌱 Parasite control can start on the ground, literally! Consistency matters more than perfection. Small, regular efforts have a real impact on paddock hygiene.
