The Orchard Summer Series

Next up is our BHS stage 1 preparation day with Eve Duggan.

Designed for riders looking to develop their horse care knowledge and practical skills, this training day provides an excellent introduction to the BHS stage 1 syllabus in a supportive and professional environment.

Whether you are preparing for assessment, considering a future career in the equine industry or simply wanting to expand your knowledge, this day offers valuable insight into the standards and expectations of the BHS pathway.

Hosted at our BHS approved centre, participants will benefit from expert guidance, practical learning and individual feedback throughout the day.

The Orchard Home Education Equine Programme 🌳🍎

September 2026 enrolment now open

The Orchard Equine College is pleased to offer a dedicated home education equine programme for young people aged 12+ with a genuine interest in Horses, Animal care and the equine industry.

Running every Monday during term time, learners will spend the day immersed in practical horse care, stable management and equine studies whilst working towards recognised qualifications.

Learners will work towards:

• City & guilds level 1 horse care
• BHS challenge awards

Programme information:

• Mondays during term time
• 10:00am - 3:00pm
• Ages 12+
• September 2026 start
• 38-week programme

Investment:

• £415 per month (including vat)
• payable monthly in advance from August to June
• Qualification and registration costs included

All applicants will attend an assessment session prior to enrolment to ensure the programme is suitable and that learners can safely participate within a group learning environment.

Please note that this programme is designed as a mainstream home education group. learners requiring specialist educational provision or significant additional support may be more appropriately supported through our specialist provision Programmes, accessed via school or local authority referral.

Next up in our summer programme is our pony pamper & adventure morning with Leah. 10-1pm

A perfect experience for younger Horse lovers, combining pony care, grooming, riding and a supervised hack in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.

at orchard, we believe time spent with Horses builds confidence, responsibility and lasting memories. this special morning gives children the opportunity to spend quality time with our ponies whilst enjoying a fun and engaging equestrian experience at our BHS and Pony club approved centre.

We are incredibly proud of the progress, resilience and achievements our learners have shown throughout this academic year so far.

From building confidence and emotional regulation to developing practical equine skills, vocational knowledge and meaningful relationships, every learner’s journey has looked different and every step forward matters.

As we head into our final term, we’re looking forward to continuing to support our young people as they grow in confidence, independence and readiness for the future.

We are so excited to officially welcome Rupert to the college family! 💛

After being dearly loved and cared for by a wonderful lady for the last 6 years, Rupert has now come home to begin his next chapter with us at the college.

This gorgeous boy will be helping to teach and support our learners, and he has already stolen everybody’s hearts. Rupert truly is the definition of a gentle giant .Sweet, kind, patient and full of character.

We already know he is going to help create so many special memories, build confidence in our learners and become an unforgettable part of college life.
