In Dad’s Footsteps ❤️ Finishing the Climb
On Saturday 11 April 2026, I’ll be climbing Pen-y-Ghent carrying 56kg, one kilo for every year of my dad’s life - to complete the climb he never finished.
The 3 Yorkshire peaks were one of my dad’s favourite places. He walked Pen-y-Ghent countless times throughout his life. On his final walk, he never reached the summit. He passed away on the mountain.
This climb isn’t about speed or records.
It’s about love, resilience and finishing something unfinished. Following in his footsteps and quite literally carrying him with me every step of the way.
Going into my first year without my dad, this challenge feels important for me. It’s something to focus on and a way to work through everything I’m still feeling.
I’m raising money for The Elizabeth Foundation, an incredible charity that supports pre-school deaf children with speech / language and provides support to their families too. They have had a huge impact on myself and our family, which makes it incredibly meaningful for me to give back.
If you’d like to support, walk alongside me on the day or simply follow the journey - thank you.
This one means everything.
