Elliott Smith and his extraordinary horse, Flamboyant, have been invited to compete in the prestigious puissance at the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show on 16 February 2025.
With a rich history of achievements, Elliott Smith and Flamboyant have become a remarkable duo in the showjumping world. Their partnership began when Flamboyant was just three years old, and Elliott has carefully produced him into the powerhouse he is today. Flamboyant, a striking 18hh gelding by Cardento renowned for his boldness and ability to cover ground effortlessly, made his mark early on when the pair won their first puissance in 2019 with a record-breaking 2.21m at the Bolesworth International Horse Show.
Elliottâs strong and determined nature has been key to their success. Known for his resilience and willingness to face challenges head-on, Elliott overcame a serious setback a few years ago when a fall left him with a broken femur. During his recovery, took over the ride of Flamboyant and did a wonderful job, achieving remarkable successes, including a second-place finish in the Al Shiraâaa Hickstead Derby. Elliott has learned so much from William during this time, gaining invaluable insights and inspiration from his expertise and dedication. We are forever grateful for Williamâs incredible contribution during this time. Instead of being discouraged, the experience strengthened his resolve, proving that challenges can lead to even greater determination and success. His relentless drive and love for the sport has only grown stronger, making this an unforgettable moment in his equestrian career.
