City of Derry Equestrian Centre We enrich people's lives by engaging with horses.

Offering horse riding, equestrian and farm experiences as well as self-catering accommodation nested in 30 acres of the scenic Faughan Valley just a stones throw away from Derry City in Ireland. This can be as a young person where you can join our Pony Club, meet new friends earn badges and tests as you learn to ride and look after horses; as a visitor who wants unhurried adventures on horseback,

taking time to experience our destination and learn about our culture: a form of therapy from the stresses of everyday life where our horses allow us to be present in our environment enabling us to learn about ourselves as well as new skills; or want to try something different or start up horse riding again. Catering for all abilities, including beginners, intermediate and experienced riders, we've been delivering quality lessons, trail rides and other activities since 2007.

💚 There is something very special about watching mums support one another, babies explore a new environment, and horses quietly hold space for everyone present.

The weather certainly kept us on our toes, with sunshine one minute and showers the next, but that didn’t stop us enjoying time together in the warmth and comfort of the barn. 🐴👶

We feel privileged to have shared our community with theirs and to witness the smiles, conversations, moments of connection, and gentle introductions between babies and our horses. These are the moments that remind us how powerful it can be to slow down, connect with nature, animals, and each other.

Our horses have a wonderful way of meeting people exactly where they are, asking nothing in return and offering a calm, accepting presence. For mums navigating the joys and challenges of early parenthood, creating space to pause, connect, and simply be can be incredibly valuable.

A huge thank you to the team at Minding Mum Waterside for spending the morning with us. It was a joy to meet all the mums and little ones, and we look forward to welcoming you back again. 💞

Today we welcomed a wonderful group of mums and babies from Minding Mum to City of Derry Farm & Equestrian Centre for a special animal therapy and wellbeing session. 💛

There were smiles from bouncing babies, gentle introductions to our horses and goats, and meaningful moments shared between mums supporting one another through lived experiences and conversation. For some of the mums, there was also the opportunity to ride our lovely Mario. 🐴

We felt truly privileged to share our community with theirs. One moment that especially touched us was hearing that our little postcard of gratitude featuring Desmond will be placed into a baby memory box, alongside a note to remember the day they met our horses and goats. 🥹

Sometimes the simplest moments — fresh air, animals, conversation, connection, and time with mummy & baby goats — can feel incredibly special.

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the morning with us. 🌿🐐
