Our lovely RVN, Fay, has just completed a charity challenge swimming 44 miles (the distance to France and back!) for Diabetes Research!
As well as being a diabetic consult nurse for her patients within her role at Larwood and Kenned, Fay also has a personal attachment to Diabetes Uk and we’ve been proud to cheer her on every step (stroke?! 🏊🏻‍♀️) of the way! Well done, Fay!

Darling Polly! Whilst she may look like she’s been wrapped up like a burrito, there is a serious reason behind it! Patients that are kept warm throughout their procedure and during their recovery are found to recover much better and more smoothly than patients who get cold. That’s why we take warming our patients seriously before, during and after their procedures so that they can wake up and go home feeling their best- even if they do look like a swiss roll for a little while 😆

It’s that time again!

Somehow we’ve reached the end of the month, so let’s do our Month Of May Round Up!

What have we been chatting about on our socials this month?

🌟 Online booking! We’re loving it and have had a fab uptake and great feedback on our online booking system

🌟 We had an amazing time meeting so many of you and having great fun on our stand at Dereham Day!

🌟 World Baking Day had us sharing some pet-friendly treat recipes

🌟 We chatted about summer safety and keeping pets cool in the rather scorching heatwave that graced us this week!

🌟 We shared the new guidelines on pet travel and the EU for anyone who travels with their pets

🌟 We shared lovely patients Clover, Tilly, Millie, Tinker and Arlo

And, last but not least-

🌟 We celebrated VNAM!
Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month happens every May and we love sharing our nurses, their skills and their achievements. We talked about how our nurses helped Nelly to achieve her ideal weight in her nurse-led weight clinics, we shared a funny video about how much nurses do behind the scenes, we chatted about how nurses continue to develop their knowledge and skills with CPD and practical learning, we shared how proud we are of our “nursing in the community” service, we looked at what RVN Fay got up to on her “giving back day”, we played “guess the nurse” with a photo of our Suzanne from 1997 AND we showed how our nurses uphold and maintain our cat friendly status 💚 PHEW!

It’s been an amazing May and we’ve loved sharing it with you.

Just cute cats doing cute cat things! Tinker made sure to investigate the entire consult room (including a sit in the sink) during her Healthy Pet Club check up with one of our RVNs. Her sister, Arlo, decided her time was better spent laying on the scales 😆 beautiful girls!
