Hi everyone! 🐾

Now that this page has reached over 100 followers, I just wanted to say how extremely grateful I am for all the support so far, and I thought it would be a good time to properly introduce myself 🙂

I’m Lizzie, and I moved to Belper, Derbyshire just over a year ago after completing my studies at Hartpury College and University. I have a Diploma in Equine Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management 👩‍🎓

Although my qualifications are horse-focused, the experience and knowledge I gained working with these animals are very transferable to pet sitting and dog walking too. Especially understanding animal behaviour, recognising signs of stress or discomfort, building trust with different personalities, and providing calm, consistent care tailored to each individual animal.

At home, I have three animals that are my whole world:

Dave, my 16 year old semi-retired pony🐴
Kevin, my 9 year old German Shepherd 🐶George, my 13 year old long-haired cat 🐱

The inspiration behind starting my business actually came from my grandma, who always found it difficult to find someone reliable and trustworthy to care for her cats while away. It made me realise how important it is for pet owners to have someone they truly trust with their animals, and that’s exactly the kind of service I hope to provide.

Today’s unexpected feline enrichment item:

A bag of carrots 🥕🐾

Despite the rumours, carrots don’t actually contain the same compounds as catnip, but that doesn’t stop many cats from becoming completely obsessed with them!

Cats are often drawn to unusual objects because of the texture, scent, and the chance to leave their own scent markings behind. The earthy smell of root vegetables can also be really interesting to a cat’s super sensitive nose!🐱

If you’ve never tried it, grab a bag of carrots and see what your cat thinks. You might discover their new favourite toy!

‼️Just make sure to supervise them.

Every cat is wonderfully strange in their own way… and apparently some are passionate about root vegetables🤣

🐾 Meet Mochi & Coco 🐾

Partners in crime with Gizmo (who you may remember from a previous post!). This trio have been an absolute joy to look after. Mochi is every bit as intelligent as she looks, while Coco truly lives up to her queen of the household status 👑

Together with Gizmo, they’re such a loving, affectionate bunch. I’ve had the loveliest time pet sitting them over the past week and Easter weekend 🥰

Spending the week cat sitting this handsome ginger boy, Gizmo 🧡 If you’ve ever had an orange male cat of your own, you just know how special they are, and he’s definitely one of them!

The photos don’t even do him justice… he’s so much bigger in real life, with the sweetest personality to match. One of three gorgeous cats in the house, but he definitely knows how to stand out 😻
