❄Keeping your Rabbits and Guinea Pigs warm❄
Rabbits and Guinea Pigs that live outside might find winter more challenging. Luckily for them, there are many ways to keep them warm!
✅Insulate their accommodation – this can be foil insulation around their hutch. You can also buy hutch covers which often have a thermal layer and plastic front to keep chilly wind, rain, and snow from getting in the hutch.
✅Provide lots of hides, preferably made from wood, and blankets to keep them snuggly and warm.
✅LOTS OF HAY! Rabbits and Guinea Pigs need hay as the main part of their diet but they also use it for bedding and to cuddle up in. Daily, fresh hay can keep them at their warmest!
✅Insulate water bottles – they can often freeze over in
the winter so insulating can prevent this.
✅Let their fresh fruits and veggies reach room temperature before serving it to them. This way they are not eating cold food!
