As temperatures rise, it’s important for all dog owners to be mindful of how the heat can affect our pets.

Dogs can struggle to regulate their body temperature, and what feels warm to us can be too hot for them , especially when it comes to walking on sun-baked pavements or getting too much sun.

💧 Always make sure they have access to fresh water

🌳 Walk during cooler parts of the day, early morning or evening

🐾 Check the ground with your hand, if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws

🚫 Avoid heavy exercise in the heat

🌬️ Shade and rest are your dog’s best friends right now

Let’s all look out for our pets during this warmer spell, they rely on us to make the right choices for them.

It’s been a warm one today, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying a lovely walk with this gorgeous gang!!

With the temperatures on the rise (I know, I can’t quite believe it either with being in Scotland!!) , I’m always mindful of each dog, choosing cooler walking routes, taking regular water breaks, and keeping walks at a safe pace so they are not dehydrated! Their wellbeing always comes first.

It’s a real privilege to spend my days with such brilliant dogs. Watching them enjoy their walkies, socialising, exploring and just being dogs, it’s what this job is all about. 🐾

STOP giving free dogs away. This pup didn't deserve the two weeks of torture as a bait dog that he received. Please stop putting your pets on Facebook and Craigslist. These are hot spots for people looking for bait dogs and cats. -------Thank you again for sharing and getting the word out.!!!!🙏
