I’m sharing this because my friend’s very healthy 4yr old Staffy died of heat stroke at 10am going for a walk 🙏

This warm weather for the Bank holiday/half term is beautiful isn't it? But it has taken us all a bit by surprise.

While 23/24 degrees may not seem like high temps to us it's worth remembering we were only in the mid to late teens a few days ago...

Did you know it can take a dog 7 to 60 days to acclimatise to the heat depending on the increase difference, with only partial adaption typically taking 7-20 days. Meaning, that if you're out and about in this lovely weather your fur companion will be at increased risk of suffering heat exhaustion, you'll need to keep a close eye and take measures to help them cope.

So...what are we doing at sensory dogs to help our guests feel more comfortable and escape the heat?

Well in the room we have added:-

*Cooling fans (a/c unit is on order)
*cool mats
*iced drinking water for both you and your pups
*frozen lick mats and frozen hidden treats
*chilled 'bobbing for treats' enrichment water play
* chilled XL bowl (definitely not a paddling pool 🫣) for what ever water play takes your pups fancy 😆

Available on request we have wet and frozen towels for those at a higher risk or struggling a bit more.

We still have one slot avaliable for today at 4 and several for tomorrow so come stay cool with us.
