I am so broken hearted ππππ for Mr. Budlington, he has been staying here over the last 8 years. He is now blind and has diabetes and cushings. He has loved playing with Belle and we shall look after him well, with all his medications. I hope he will love being with his friend here. He seems to be coping well so far. He is a great little friend of ours π

After a very, very busy time, organising a 90th birthday, family from all over the world came to visit. Medicating dogs with liver problems, heart problems and pain, feeding, walking and cleaning.
I think I have had a big win today, the dogs loved the new crocodile and I can now relax with a campari, until it all starts again tomorrow.
Cheers and happy Saturday, everyone π

It is with a heavy heart, Cooper was let go yesterday, after finding a massive tumour on his lung and had spread to his lymph nodes.
So sorry Jean and David Boobyer for your loss. We have loved looking after Cooper for the last 8 years, you were a funny boy and we loved the barking in the car,
Sad time πͺ

We are back now after two weeks travelling round Ireland, Dublin, Tipperary, Kerry, Clare, Connemara, Galway, The Burren, Cliffs of Mohan and Innish mor on the Aran Isles. It has been fantastic with all the different animals we met, especially the lambs in Di**le.
We really missed Belle, thank you Debbi Janet and Wendy Morgan and Laurie and April from Take my Lead for looking after her so well.
Unfortunately I have come back with a terrible cold. But it is lovely to be back with the dogs.
I have my notes and will be getting back to all your enquires.
Many Thanks
Bridget

Happy birthday Bluebelle 5 today, we love you.
So it was a beach pawty, with Belle, Ziggy, Kali, Nala and Bonnie. Then home for balloons and birthday cake (the cake recipe is from Battersea dogs home), I can truly say they were all worn out after the excitement. ππππππππΎπΎ

This made my day, a bus full of Chinese guys and gals, I just love this breed. They weren't allowed out of Tibet/China till the 1930s, they were so revered. Only thing I find difficult when grooming them, the Chinese thought it was lucky if they double dew claws on their back legs. Fortunately I don't see this anymore β€

Letβs talk sniffing
Many of you will know how highly I rate sniffing - the more we can encourage our dogs to sniff, and play sniffy games the better.
Why is it so good?
For lots of reasons but here are a few:
-It makes our dogs feel good
-They enjoy it
-It gives them a mental workout
-Great for puppies who canβt walk far because of their joints
-Brilliant for older dogs to give them an all round workout without causing achy joints from walking too far
-Amazing for days when you donβt have long to exercise your dog
-A great focus for dogs who are reactive
-Perfect for all dogs
-Leads to a more relaxed dog
-Promotes teamwork between dog and human which in turn leads to better focus/attention/recall/loose lead walking
-Encourages your dog to be near to you rather than getting their fun from the environment.
-Accessible for ALL dogs
If you are interested in joining one of our Scent Courses to teach your dog how to search for articles (sniffer dog style) please get in touch. 121 tuition also available for dogs who are not suited to a group environment πΆ

At the start of 2020 Dog Designs of Dawlish are pleased to announce that our regular day care dogs are back at school and it is so lovely to see them after the holidays. We have had the cottage painted inside while our guests were away, so we are all fresh to receive our furry friends.
It has also been a very sad start to the New Year, one of my very loyal customers who bought her little dog Charlie to me for her groom has lost her fight to cancer, such a lovely lady who will be really missed. Also Charlie the bull dog who was a real character has died at the age of 10 years he had a heart condition, love to Moya. ( ahh two Charlies)
The holiday season will soon be upon us and we have received a lot of bookings for the summer for home from home boarding. Your dog can have a pamper session while they are staying. We welcome new enquires for home from home boarding.
Now that spring is well on the way donβt forget to get your dog booked in for a lovely spring groom, we have lovely shampoos and coat conditioning sprays, so your dog will feel gorgeous after a lovely spa treatment, we soak paws in warm water and shampoo and make sure their pads and in between are free from sand, pebbles, matts and seeds. In our services department you will find costs and our pick up and delivery service.
We offer dog walking and home visits for feeding and let out. No need to feel guilty about your dog being home alone all day with its legs crossed, let us give it a good run and meet new friends. A new service will be available shortly, keep your eyes peeled for deTAILS.
