Hello everyone! Following the break-in to our grooming salon last Thursday, I would like to say a huge Thankyou to everyone who has kindly donated to the New Hope Animal Rescue Charity (who’s charity box was stolen). Your generosity has been amazing and I know the Charity are extremely grateful to you all. I have received another £150 in the last couple of days and anything you could spare to help the organisation, no matter how small, would make an enormous difference to their cause. Thankyou all so much for your support today after we had two bricks put through our shopfront at 3.30am this morning. The total lowlife stole our charity box for New Hope Animal Rescue Centre, which is a wonderful organisation in Kent, who do amazing work (newhopeanimalrescue.co.uk). I have personally donated £50 to cover their loss. We have got CCTV footage which is currently being investigated. This is the 2nd time this has happened in a couple of years at Hair of The Dog. What a very sad world we are living in, but your support and kind words have been overwhelming. Love for now, Lorraine abs Team x

New Hope began as a rescue dedicated to saving animals on death row or those in immediate danger due to medical or behavioural issues, As the years went by we found we had become a sanctuary to other animals such as chickens, turkeys and pigs. Hi all just to keep you all up to date, it looks like we will still be able to stay open during the new lockdown rules! We do ask that you wear a mask when in salon (unless you are exempt and have proof) and only have one customer in reception at a time. We do also ask that if you can please keep to appointment times and come to collect ASAP as we are under strict rules as to how many poochies we can have in the salon at a time! To all our lovely customers and their owners!
We sincerely hope you, your family and friends are keeping well and looking after yourselves and each other during these strange and unsettling time.
Thank you for your continued support and patience over the past several weeks. We are delighted to say we are now fully operational, with extra measures and necessary precautions in place.
We have re-arranged all of the bookings made in the lock-down period and look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
If you require an appointment, please contact the salon at your earliest convenience, where we can offer you availability from the end on June.

Hi all! All staff would like to Thank you all again for being incredibly patient with us through this unsettling time!
It looks like we will be able to open fully as of next week.
In regards of appointments, our main focus will be customers we’ve had to postpone since the first week of lockdown and we will do our best to fit the rest in as and when we can, whilst keeping ourselves safe! We hope you can all appreciate that we are doing everything in our power to help you all! We hope to see you all soon stay safe! Xx

Hi everyone! We hope you are keeping well and staying safe. Just to give you an update, the Pet Industry Federation (8.4.20) states that Government regulations make it clear that an owner taking a pet by vehicle to be groomed is unlikely to be essential travel. However, there may be welfare grounds on which grooming may be necessary and therefore we are very hopeful that restrictions will be lifted on grooming business very soon, on the basis of animal welfare. We will keep you updated via our site, or please do not hesitate to call the salon number of 01322 272766 anytime, for any help or guidance in the meantime. Thankyou again for your continued support during this very worrying time. We look forward to reopening as soon as we possibly can and giving you our warm welcome as usual! Hi all! Us at Hair of the Dog would like to thank you all for your understanding and support over this last week and for the weeks to come. Unfortunately the salon will be shut until further notice, however we are still taking calls and messages to give advice to help with any upkeep. We will be in contact to rebook any appointments as soon as we have the all clear to re-open! Please get in contact if you have any questions. In the mean time we hope you all stay safe and well.
