Summer Solstice 🌅
It’s my last night with Bruce and Aggie and i thought what a perfect night and opportunity to watch the sunset with it being the longest day of the year 🥰 The views were lovely, it was peaceful and silent and there was me trying to do a cute photoshoot without getting tangled in the leads, trying to get them to stand together and face me 🙈🤣
It was also super cloudy so we didn’t see much 🙈🤣 But I had a catch up and a laugh with a friend and I think Aggie and Bruce loved it and all the smells 🥰
Happy summer solstice, I hope the next half of the year is wonderful 💛

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARPER & ORLA!!
Two of my most favourite girls to walk and look after! Part of the fantastic 4!! The cutest sisters, so sweet, amazing nature, get on so well with all dogs and I could just watch them play together all day 😍 I just think it’s wonderful that they get to walk together every week 🥰

How can a dog be brave enough to take a knife, a beating, and years of physical punishment protecting the public... yet still be left without guaranteed support when their service ends? 💔🐾

This is Quantum 👇🐶

A German Shepherd who spent six years serving with Nottinghamshire Police, helping to secure more than 250 arrests and taking dangerous criminals off our streets.

He was stabbed and injured while taking down a machete-wielding suspect. He was struck around the head with a plank of wood while helping detain a violent offender who had already assaulted several officers. Despite his injuries, he carried on doing the job he had been trained to do.

Loyal. Fearless. Dependable.

Everything that was asked of him, Quantum gave.

But now, in retirement, Quantum is suffering from a broken tooth believed to be linked to his years of service, along with painful joint and mobility problems. The cost of investigating and treating his conditions has already reached around £10,000, with charities stepping in to help.

And here's the part many people don't realise...

Once a police dog retires, responsibility for their veterinary bills and welfare passes to their new owner, former handler, sometimes charities. That means the people who open their homes and hearts to these incredible dogs often face thousands of pounds in costs linked to injuries and illnesses that may have been caused by years spent serving and protecting us.

These dogs didn't choose a life of chasing violent criminals, being injured in the line of duty, or putting themselves in danger. They did it because they were trained, trusted, and relied upon by the organisations they served so loyally.

Surely the support shouldn't end the moment their working life does?

But there is a petition that is calling on the UK Government for lifelong veterinary care and financial support for retired service animals, including police dogs, military dogs, and police horses.

These animals spend their lives serving our communities. They deserve dignity, care, and support for the rest of their lives.

🐾 Preparing Your Dog for Boarding?🐾

Even though I board dogs on a weekly basis, the summer holidays can be a little more full on so whilst your counting down the days until your holiday, your dog is counting down till there’s … with me 🥰

So here are a few simple tips to get them ‘Home Boarding Ready’
A little preparation helps make their experience happy and stress-free!
💉 Make sure vaccinations are up to date
🥩 Pack their usual food and any medications
🧸 Bring a favourite toy or blanket for comfort
📝 Make sure the booking form is filled out to the best of your knowledge - Share your dog’s routine, likes, and special needs with us.

Most importantly — stay positive at drop-off! Dogs pick up on our emotions, and a calm goodbye helps them settle in faster.

We’re here to make your pup feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away!

Group/ Social walks - Are they safe?

These types of walks aren’t for all dogs unfortunately. Reactive and nervous dogs really wouldn’t enjoy this type of environment. It can be overwhelming and scary.

But well socialised and dog friendly dogs absolutely thrive off it! I love watching friendships form, you can see their bond, respect and communication flow.

✨ There’s nothing more pure and magical then dogs playing✨

So group walks are thought out by me.
Meet and greets are essential to find out about the dog that would like to join a group and if they would be suitable.
Maybe a couple of solo walks together to see how they respond to me and to other dogs if I’m still unsure about them.

I try to put similar energy dogs together, because if I was to throw my little Theo into a group of wild ones, he would be hating his life 🤣🤣

Like I have said I am the fun auntie and they have not come to some training camp!

They’re out in nature with their friends, running, sniffing and always learning, especially from each other. They read body language and communicate far better than we ever could.
If it starts to get a little too much or I can see it escalating and they are no longer enjoying themselves, of course i will step in!
That’s my job; to protect and makesure we are all safe! But I do let dogs be dogs and they come home so so happy!
It might look like alot of crazy chaos to some, but to the dogs it’s the best part of their day or week and I’m so grateful to be apart of it 🥰
