We're working on one of the tracks and the meadow today- moving fences around, pulling weeds, and entertaining the dogs!

Photo 3: We have so many species growing in 'Cottage Field' this year that it's turned into a wild meadow! This will be the last year it's grazed because we've been offered funding to turn it into more woodland.

A throwback to 2015!

When we first moved to the farm, there was no concrete on one half of the barn and gates instead of a wall. Min and Twig (2 years old here) had this pen instead- it was really easy to muck out because all the wet sunk into the ground!

We have decided to have a reshuffle and offer DIY livery to a quiet gelding.

We are fully insured, have a 23x40 all weather arena, great mountain and woodland hacking, and offer as much turnout as possible all year round.

We are a very laid back yard so it would suit someone with a retired gelding or happy hacker. Please drop us a message if you're interested 😊

The field shelter has been in use for a couple of months. We've seen up to 5 horses use it at the same time, particularly for dozing during the day or sheltering when the wind is biting. We plan to use temporary tracks to make sure the shelter is available all year round.

The new 24'x12' field shelter is well underway after a day of hard work! Thanks to everyone who has helped make this happen. The horses are living out 24/7 as much as possible so we wanted to make sure they have plenty of shelter and some hard standing if the fields become muddy. When it gets warmer we can join it via a track to the summer fields so they have an area for shade too 🐎

Earlier this year we made the big decision to downsize the livery yard. This was partly due to my own health reasons and partly for horse welfare. With less horses on the ground we've been able to allow 24 hour turn out supplemented with hay over night. It's a bit of a learning curve for us but so far all the horses seem happy with their new natural lifestyle!
