We were delighted to welcome our new Ambassadog Jin to the Hospice to meet our CEO, Tracy 🐶

We were also joined by Vets for Pets Ayr , alongside some of our staff and volunteers, who lined up to congratulate Jin on her victory🏅

After posing for a few photos, Jin visited our In-Patient Unit, bringing smiles to the faces of our patients and their loved ones 💜

Jin will lead the pack as we set off on the Waggy Tail Walk at Eglington Park on Sunday 9th August 🐾

As we head into the warmer months, ticks become much more active 🐶🌿

Please make sure your dogs are up to date with their flea & tick protection before walks and adventures outdoors. If you have any questions or concerns about the best protection for your dog, speak with your vet for advice on the most suitable options available. 🐾🐶

Ticks vary in size depending on their age and whether or not they have had a blood meal recently.

Nymph ticks can be as small as poppy seeds and can easily be missed. An engorged tick can be pea-sized or bigger.

There are many species of tick but some examples can be found in the picture above.

🐾 Time for a Paws! 🐾

Just a quick heads-up to all our lovely four-legged friends and their humans: the Ochburn team is taking a little "paws" for some rest and relaxation! ☀️🇫🇷

🗓️ Our Holiday Dates:

Off Duty: Friday, May 1st – Thursday, May 7th

Back in Action: Friday, May 8th

We will be stepping away from our phones to enjoy some family time and sunshine. If you send us a message during this time, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten you! We’ll be picking up all inquiries and responding to everyone when we return on the 8th.

Thank you for your continued support and for trusting us with your pups. We can't wait to see those wagging tails again very soon! 🐶✨

🐣🎉 Harley’s Easter Giveaway Delivery Day! 🎉🐣

A huge congratulations to our winner Millie! 🤩

Harley’s Easter Bag has officially been delivered… and let’s just say there was NO time wasted! Millie and her partner-in-crime, Kuro, had their noses straight in the bag before I could even blink. 😂🐾

Now the real question is… will Millie share with her sister? 🤔 Or is Kuro just there for “quality control”? 👀

Either way, I think it’s safe to say the goodies have passed inspection with flying colours (and wagging tails!) 🐰✨

I know we said no more.... but room for a little one surly? 🙈😅

Everyone, meet our newest recruit — Ellie 💕 a beautiful collie puppy who has completely stolen our hearts! We couldn’t resist that face 🐾

Ellie has settled in wonderfully and is already enjoying making new furry friends with the pack 🐕✨

We are now absolutely at capacity for the time being and won’t be taking on any more new dogs just now (Promise). As soon as space becomes available, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.

🐣🌸 Happy Easter from Ochburn! 🌸🐾

Harley has been feeling very generous this Easter… in fact, she had the incredibly sweet (and slightly ambitious) idea of buying every single one of our regular dogs their very own Easter basket 🐶💝

After a gentle chat about things like “budgets” and “money doesn’t grow on trees” (concepts she’s still not entirely sold on 😅), we’ve reached a compromise…

Instead, Harley has put together one VERY exciting Easter prize bundle and everyone is being entered into a special Easter competition! 🎉🐕

🐾 What’s in the basket?

Delicious rabbit ears 🐰
Crunchy chicken feet 🍗
A few fun toys 🎾
And an Easter egg packed full of goodies 🍫 (dog-friendly, of course!)

I’ll be adding all of our regulars’ names onto a random wheel selector and spinning it! winner will be announced in the comments soon, so keep your paws crossed! 🤞🐾

Harley will be supervising the draw (and probably trying to claim the prize for herself… quality control, obviously 👀).

🐾 A warm Ochburn welcome to Zoe! 🐾

We’re delighted to introduce the lovely Zoe, who’ll be joining us for her weekly walks. She’s already enjoyed her first walk with us today and go on beautifully! We can’t wait for her to become part of the Ochburn pack! 🖤

It’s been amazing to see such a wonderful increase in clients on our regular walks recently! we’re so grateful for all your support. However, this does mean we are now almost at capacity, with availability at a minimum.

In the interest of the wellbeing of all our dogs, and to allow new additions like Zoe the time and space to settle and adjust, we’ll be putting a temporary hold on taking on new clients.

If you’d like to be added to a waiting list, or would like to be referred to another trusted dog walker, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
