Basil’s favourite time of day - Snack Time !

Our parrots get a varied diet consisting of seed, vegetables, fruits, nuts etc and Basil here has a particular soft spot for Hazelnuts !

Offering a parrot a varied diet guarantees good nutrition and a mixture of vitamins to keep them healthy. It is a common belief that parrots can solely live on seed, though an all-seed diet can be harmful and fatty for the bird’s overall health, so variety is key.

🎃 Come and join us for a Halloween themed ‘An Evening with Owls’ on the 1st of November! 🎃

👻 Join us for a spooky nocturnal flying demonstration on the 1st of November with our owls. The event will be kicking off at 6pm with soup and a roll. Once sufficiently warmed up, you will be led down into the centre to meet and hold some of our owls! After the handling session you will head to the flying field which will be partially illuminated and full of Halloween themed props. Then sit back and watch some of our beautiful owls flying silently in the dark and learn all about this fantastic family of birds. It certainly is a completely different way to experience these very special birds! 👻

Bookings must be taken through the centre (Thurs-Sun between 10am-4.30) or alternatively you can PM us a contact number, and we will handle your booking from there.

Spaces are limited and fill up quickly!

Watch Fangorn our Tawny Owl grow up!

Fangorn is now 1 year old, is stunning in her adult plumage and a confident flier. It’s fun to look back at just how fluffy, clumsy and curious she was as an owlet!

Say cheese ! 📸

Radagast, our Rüppell’s Griffon Vulture, is quite the poser!

Despite the stigma there can be about vultures seeming big, scary and over-confident, they are naturally curious yet cautious birds, unsure of new things and hesitant to get too close until it’s safe. Although, when in a safe and trusted environment, their curious personalities begin to show! Even Radagast here can be nervous of new sightings, but the familiarity in his surroundings allows him to feel comfortable enough to have a good vulture play-fight with us, just as if we are a fellow vulture! And after a good bit of food, he’s even happy to sit for a few photos! 🪶

Harry, our Umbrella Cockatoo, getting some cuddles and scratches!

Cockatoos are sociable birds, whether with flock members or owners, and it’s important to have some bonding time!

Harry loves a good head scratch or an allopreen, where we can preen any head feathers he has coming in that might be bothering him.
