Busy day at reception? No problem- George reported for duty 🐾🐱

His talents included supervising the front desk, charming clients and demanding treats from the team😹

*** Disclaimer***
George was completely safe and closely supervised throughout his visit🐱
For the safety and comfort of all pets, we kindly ask that cats attending appointments are always transported in a secure carrier to help keep them safe and as stress free as possible💗

Unfortunately, we have had a deceased young cat handed into ourselves. They are mostly white with some distinctive black markings and unfortunately not microchipped. Found on Condorrat Main street. If you think this may be your cat please get in touch on 01236 728273.

🐾 Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month🐾

Ever wondered how to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse ? Here are the main training routes available! 🐶🐱

📚 Further Education
The Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing is a qualification designed to prepare veterinary nurses for professional registration on the RCVS Register of Veterinary Nurses. It is available on either a full-time basis or apprenticeship-style alongside a job in veterinary practice. This is a great option if you prefer practical learning and earning while you train!

🎓 Degree Route
A degree course will take a little longer than the further education pathway and is more academic, but you will be required to undertake clinical placements in an approved training practice. A degree in veterinary nursing can lead to additional career opportunities, such as research, the pharmaceutical industry and teaching, in addition to work in clinical veterinary practice. For more information visit the RCVS website.

Both routes lead to qualification as an RVN and registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, allowing you to work in veterinary practice across the UK. 💙

This week for Veterinary Nurse Awareness month, we are celebrating our Deputy Head Nurse Hannah! 😍💜💛

We’re so lucky to have Hannah as our Deputy Head Nurse at Condorrat Veterinary Surgery! Hannah’s caring and compassionate nature shines through in everything she does, whether she’s comforting a nervous patient or supporting a worried owner. She’s our resident cat lover and it’s no surprise she’s always the first one called for our ‘spicy’ cats of the practice- her calm hands and patient approach seem to work magic every time. Thank you, Hannah, for the skill, kindness and sense of humour you bring to the team every single day.

This Vet Nurse Awareness Month, we’re shining a spotlight on the vital role of Registered Veterinary Nurses and celebrating the incredible work they do every single day 💙🐾

RVNs are highly trained professionals who play an essential role in every aspect of patient care. From monitoring anaesthetics and assisting during surgery, to carrying out diagnostic tests, administering medications, providing emergency and critical care, and supporting patients through recovery, RVNs are at the heart of veterinary medicine.

They are also passionate advocates for animal welfare, offering preventative healthcare advice, running nurse clinics, educating owners on nutrition, behaviour, weight management, dental care, and helping pets live healthier, happier lives.

Alongside caring for their patients, RVNs provide reassurance and support to owners during some of the most difficult and emotional moments, showing compassion, empathy, and professionalism every step of the way.

Their skill, dedication, and commitment are invaluable to both the veterinary team and the animals they care for, and this month we want to say a huge thank you to all RVNs for everything they do 🩺✨
