A gentle reminder to all our lovely clients that Nic and I are officially on holiday starting tomorrow (Friday), and we will be back to work on Thursday the 4th of June.

To make sure we completely switch off, we won't be checking or answering messages and calls while we are away. Rest assured, we will get back to everyone as soon as possible upon our return!

Big news from behind the scenes at Steps & Stays! 🐾

For the last 3 years, Nic and I (Claire) have been so incredibly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us to walk, board, and care for your beloved four-legged family members. We love what we do every single day, but we are always looking for ways to bring even more value to our amazing community.

To kickstart an exciting new chapter for our business, I took a step forward last week and attended the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) 2-Day Career as a Dog Trainer course! 🚀

It was an incredible couple of days deep-diving into modern, science-based methods, dog body language, how dogs learn, and understanding their natural instincts. 🧠🐶

Welcome back, Poppy! 🐾

We currently have the absolute pleasure of walking Poppy again while her parents are away on holiday. She’s staying with her grandma in Culross at the moment, and just like her holiday last year, she has fitted back into the pack beautifully! 🐾

Poppy is a stunning black labrador. She is a massive fan of water and will find any given opportunity to get wet and splash around! 💦

She also absolutely loves playing with the smaller dogs. It has been such a joy welcoming her back, seeing how quickly she remembered us, and watching her confident, playful personality completely shine all over again. 🥰

Holiday mode: ON for Layla! 🐾

The lovely Layla has been with us for a couple of days now on her holidays, and she is an absolute delight to have around! 🐶

As a regular on our adventure walks, we already know and love Layla well, but having her move in for a sleepover is always a treat. She has that classic spaniel "on/off" switch down to a fine art.

Outside, she’s got boundless energy, zig-zagging through the trails and happily splashing in every single muddy puddle or stream she can find. 💦

But once she's indoors, she turns into the ultimate cuddle monster, perfectly content snoring right next to you on the sofa and soaking up all the scratches. 💤

We have this sweet girl until Wednesday next week, and she’s already having the best time keeping up with the daily pack walks! 🥰

For the adventurers who love to follow their noses, we make sure they have the freedom to be dogs while staying 100% safe.

Whether we are in the woods or up in the hills, our tracker and bells mean we always know exactly where the pack is. It’s all about letting your dogs explore with total peace of mind! 🐾

Friday Adventure Mode: Activated! 🌲⛰️💦

This is what our Friday Adventure Walks at Steps And Stays are all about!

I (Claire) take a small pack of three dogs out for a full 2-hour walk, and I put a lot of thought into these groups. I usually pair two "players" with one independent dog to ensure everyone feels included and gets the absolute best out of their time. 🐾

Safety is always the priority. I adapt our locations to the weather and the group dynamics, only visiting areas I’ve explored on my own first to ensure they are 100% dog-friendly! 🐕

I’m often told that I am the human equivalent of a springer spaniel, and your dogs have officially adopted me into their pack. It is such a joy every week! ✨

A ‘Sausage’ called Lorne? Yes, please! 🌭🐾

Look who’s just had his first trial night with us: the lovely Lorne.

Lorne is a Torryburn local and a regular on our walks, but this was his first sleepover. We have to give a huge shout-out to his paw-rents for the name—calling a dachshund "Lorne" is a top-tier play on words! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lorne is just about to turn one, and it’s fair to say he’s absolutely full of beans. He’s still "learning how to dog" and figuring out that not every pup wants to be his immediate bestie, but he’s making great progress.

He did incredibly well last night and settled in beautifully. We’re already looking forward to his next stay! ❤️

Weekend vibes with Bella-Bobs! 🐾

It’s such a joy to have the gorgeous Bella with us for the weekend. Bella used to be a regular on our pack walks, but since shoulder issues have put those on hold, we’re delighted to have her here for a full weekend of home comforts instead.

Bella is a friendly cockapoo who loves her human cuddles. She’s been making herself right at home, claiming her spot on the sofa and enjoying some belly rubs. It’s so good to spend some quality time with you, Bella! ❤️
