Well done to Fiadh, 8 month old working line cocker spaniel, for doing so well in Puppy Classes! She's now stepping into her teenage phase which can bring new challenges but with the great work her mum is putting in, she's in the best hands! Meet 6-month-old German Shepherd pup Danu.

Danu found group classes a bit overwhelming, so we created a personalised one to one training plan just for her. Today was her first session and she did amazingly well! We focused on building her focus and cooperation with her owner, even when shes around all the exciting distractions of other dogs, people and everything else that simply spells fun for her!

I was really happy with Danu’s progress and with Elaine’s dedication to the training, which is absolutely key to their success and I’ve no doubt that they’ll be enjoying calm, relaxed walks together soon. Keep up the great work Team Danu! 🐕🚶‍♀️

Stella, a lovely 14 month old whippet was in with me today for her first Temperament and Training Assessment on her journey to becoming a Therapy Dog for the organisation Voicing the Void, and she did amazingly well! 🐾 Her gentle temperament and eagerness to learn show real promise and I’m excited to guide her and her guardian through the next stages.

Over the coming months, we’ll be working hard to bring her training up to the high standards required for Therapy Dog accreditation. I’m confident she’ll be a perfect fit for Voicing the Void’s important work, helping to uplift and empower underrepresented voices.

Looking forward to watching Stella grow into her role! 🌟

🐾 A Productive Day of Learning! 🐾

Today, I had the privilege of hosting a workshop for the dedicated staff at Live Life Well-Being Centre in Lisburn, who work tirelessly to support young adults with additional needs. The focus was on caring for their wonderful Therapy Dog in training, Poppy, and ensuring her wellbeing in her important role.

By prioritising Poppy’s wellbeing, the group's participants can benefit from a more enriching and supportive experience, while the staff can be confident they are fostering a safe and nurturing environment.

Thank you to everyone who attended. I look forward to continuing Poppy’s training and assessment over the coming months, working towards her becoming a fully qualified Therapy Dog and supporting the incredible work of the centre.
