Imagine This: Leave It Without the Extra Work! 👀

Struggling withe transferring your training to real life use? For many owners, bridging the gap between the step-by-step classroom version of training and what happens at home can be tricky, which is why I’ve focused my classes around this idea of practicing real-life-ready skills that you can take away and use immediately! There are also so many opportunities to turn regular parts of your day-to-day life into training without adding extra work, and I create these exercises and challenges with this in mind. ☕️

This week in class one of the things we worked on was teaching ‘leave it’, and it was amazing to see how quickly all of the puppies picked up on what to do (or rather, what not to do!). Here you can see 4 month old Labrador Redmond doing fantastically at leaving a nearby plate of treats - his owners were astonished at his ability to do this! 🤩

The Difference Good Classes Can Make!

I’ve had several puppy owners come to me over the years after having already attended another course elsewhere, and that in itself speaks volumes - what were they missing that they didn’t get from another class? 😱

In Phoebe’s case, her owners felt that they had struggled to understand how to implement their training into a busy and distraction-filled life, and especially were struggling with how to help Phoebe to be as focused, calm, and motivated as possible. These are common problems that I know a lot of puppy and adolescent dog owners face, and that’s why I’ve built my course around them, rather than just focusing on specific exercises! 😁

Out of office: I walked a weekend marathon!🚶🏻‍♂️

A little behind the scenes on why I’m taking a couple of rare days off this week 👀

On Saturday I took on my first ever long distance walking challenge event, and managed to complete 26.6 miles over the beautiful South Downs! I’m really pleased with this, and had a great experience. That being said, I knew I’d be pretty knackered, and so I’ll be 'out of office' until Wednesday this week to rest and recover. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend themselves, and I’ll see you back in a couple of days! 💪

Celebrating Success: Martino the Portuguese Rescue Chilling at the Park! 🤩

Martino and his family have made incredible progress in the almost 2 months since he arrived from Portugal 🙌 Here he is chilling in the park this week, and this is a great moment to celebrate all of their hard work and Martino’s progress because as anyone with a rescue (particularly an overseas rescue!) will know, even something so simple as lying calmly on his mat in the park with his family is a huge step for a dog who has had such big change in his life 💙

So I want to take a moment to spotlight all of his owners’ patience and hard work, they’ve been incredible to work with and their commitment to Martino has evidently paid off! We started with a pre-arrival session to get them completely prepared before he travelled over from Portugal, and since then have had several 1:1s to equip them with all the understanding and skills they have needed to help him to gradually relax and start coming out of his shell 💪

Chutney is sooo sweet, just look at her polite sitting! Her family just welcomed her home this weekend and are doing fantastically - we started with a pre-arrival session a couple of weeks ago to help them get totally prepared and confident ahead of her coming home, and from how her first few days are going it's safe to say this has paid off! 💪😁
