The 🌞 might have disappeared this week, but it will return.
Here are some useful notes on heatstroke in dogs, how to prevent & what do do if you suspect your dog is suffering.
☀️🐾 HEATSTROKE KILLS DOGS FASTER THAN YOU THINK! 🐾☀️
Dogs can’t sweat like us. When their body temperature spikes, it is a life-or-death emergency. Act fast!
🚨 Watch for these signs:
• Heavy, non-stop panting
• Thick drooling or foaming
• Bright red, pale, or blue gums
• Wobbliness or staggering
• Collapse or vomiting
🛑 Emergency First Aid (Cool First, Transport Second):
1️⃣ Move to shade or AC immediately.
2️⃣ Pour cool water over them (never ice water).
3️⃣ Use a fan. Do NOT drape wet towels over them.
4️⃣ Call your vet instantly.
Flat-faced, elderly, or overweight dogs are at extreme risk. Skip the midday walks! 🐶❤️
