What a gorgeous fresh autumn day! Perfect day for a walk down the North Dorset Trailway, what a way to start October half term.

So today we are closing a bit early at 2PM as we are off to collect own new puppy from Worcester, we can’t wait for him to become cafe dog with Walter.

Tomorrow normal hours will resume so 9.30-3pm with our fab breakfasts, light lunches and delicious coffee

We have just been sent this video, for the fifth time our signage has been attacked but this time thrown into the bushes down the Trailway towards The Big Yellow Bus, it’s a heavy sign so would have taken some effort to carry that little way and then thrown.

Honestly I have no words, we are trying to earn an honest living, providing a service to the community and employing local people.

It has to stop! The damage this is doing emotionally, mentally and financially and also our reputation is just unforgivable.

The A frame will be put back again tomorrow when we get back to work.

Location: Cosy Rural Café (Driver Essential)

We’re a fun, friendly, and welcoming café tucked away in a beautiful rural setting – and we’re looking for an experienced and passionate Barista/Cook/Supervisor to join our small team.

About the Role:
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café or hospitality environment. You’ll be a key part of the day-to-day running of the café, taking the lead on shift, supporting and motivating the team, and ensuring our customers receive excellent service (and delicious food & drinks!).

What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Minimum 3 years’ experience in a busy café or similar hospitality setting
✔️ Confident in barista and kitchen duties
✔️ Experience supervising or leading a small team
✔️ Reliable, positive, and ready to roll up your sleeves
✔️ Must be a driver – we’re in a rural location

Hours:
• 2–3 days per week
• Includes every other weekend

We’re looking for someone who’s not just here for a job, but wants to be part of something special and help us grow to our full potential.

Who doesn’t love a Sunday roast on a Monday?!!

A Quick Update from Us ☕️

We had another amazing weekend—thank you to everyone who came by! However, on Sunday our beloved coffee machine decided to take a break of its own. While we’re happy to say it was repaired today, the unexpected hiccup meant we didn’t have time to get our usual baking and ordering done, as we weren’t sure if (or when) it would be fixed.

That said, this has given us the perfect opportunity to make a change we’ve been planning for a while. As we move into the winter months, we’ve decided to adjust our opening hours.

From this week onwards, we’ll be closed on Tuesdays.

Since opening in February, we’ve been running six days a week, and it’s been an incredible ride. But we also recognise the need for a little downtime to rest, recharge, and work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.

We’re so sorry to anyone who was hoping to visit on a Tuesday, but we hope you’ll understand the change. We’re so grateful for the support we’ve received and can’t wait to spend our first winter with you all at the café.
