This is where our passion to help others and train dogs comes in to its own. Dog training can be used to tackle anything from toilet training a puppy, sorting out a stubborn behavioural pattern right through to confidence building or precision obedience. A positive attitude and patience are two things that are fundamental to make training a success. We are happy to give advice via our one to one c

onsults, involving training and behaviour assessment. This helps us to give you a clearer understanding of the scale of the problem you are facing, as well as a realistic time frame and the costs involved. What’s it all about…

Training is about tackling the good days and the bad days, in a consistent and calm manner so that dogs learn to act in a way that is expected and wanted of them. Progress will only come if the dog is ready to take on board what is being asked of them, and sometimes this really requires a lot of patience but most importantly knowledge in how to train and what next step to take. The length of time allocated to developing a dog’s skills is often an estimate based on previous experiences. The first thing to remember is no dog is the same, even if they are the same breed or even brother or sister. All dogs are individuals but there are often very similar characteristics present that we as trainers recognise and use, allowing us to understand the dog’s reasons for behaving in such a way. The speed at which a dog learns is down to them feeling safe, trusting their trainer and happy in that training environment. This comfortable state of mind means that they take on board what is being asked of them. Learnt commands take time to become trained and ingrained behaviours, and it is only with time, a lot of effort and consistency that we can achieve this level of training. The methods we use in training always focus on ensuring that all dogs stay happy mentally and physically. Clicker training, food based positive rewards and other methods of reinforcement are used. Our small set-up enables us to have a close relationship with all of the dogs we train. We cater for one to one interaction, as well as allowing dogs to socialise with others. We also like dogs to experience different surroundings and where possible train in new environments. Tailoring training for you…

Our training programmes are tailored to each individual dog, dependent on the behaviours exhibited or the outcomes desired from the owners. Our ability to be flexible and adapt to the different needs of various dog breeds, ages and characters has helped us to achieve the success rate we have had with our training. Please visit our testimonials page for reviews on some of the dogs we have trained and advice we have given to past customers. Our training courses can be tailored to offer different types and lengths of training; we are happy to advise which is most suitable for you and your dog, please contact us about these programmes and where possible give us a brief overview of your dog and requirements in training.

Well folks, that a wrap for us at Foxholes Farm. Today marks the end of 5 happy years of business at this lovely spot in Crick.😢 (Read to the end. Good news coming…🥰)

We are are no longer at this site. Any business set up here in the future is not linked with ourselves or Mairi Chapman or Luke Chapman.

Transparency:
A planning application was applied for by the new land owner. Unfortunately the application was not detailed enough to make highways or WNC planning dept. happy enough to grant approval.
Sadly, we were not involved or consulted in the planning application and so our experience and knowledge of the business we have run there, was not included or considered.

Documents have been publicised on the WNC planning portal and detail Highways response. Which, we respect and have not argued with.
We have been forced to close our doors abruptly with no offer given for a re-entry date, even after post-approval of the planning application. We are saddened by this. But legally we are not the land owners. So as tenants, we are in a weak position.

We fully appreciate that everyone is struggling in some way or another financially at present. Houses aren’t selling fast, the cost of living is high, investments are turbulent and cash in your pocket has never been more valuable.
So the loss of this business for us as a couple with 3 kids that live their lives running their own businesses, to provide for their future, with no other dependant income, is a really big loss.

As business owners we know the harsh truth of the hard work involved to make an idea succeed enough for you to give your whole self to it, to invest your own money in setting it up and promote it to get others to believe in it too! Thats the really difficult bit. So for that to be taken away so quickly is just devastating.

The set up of a new field will cost us in excess of £15k. So this is no quick fix without risk to making a new location work.

Now for the GOOD NEWS!!
Anyone who knows us will know that sitting about waiting for something to happen doesn’t really fall into our vocabulary.
Thankfully, we’ve secured a lovely new field not far from Crick to move to. (See picture)
We are really excited and will keep you all updated on the progress.

Here’s to a new chapter and cracking on doing what we love.
We hope you’ll follow us on the journey.

♥️🐶🐾

Hi everyone,

This isn’t something we ever wanted to bring to social media, but we feel our loyal customers deserve honesty and clarity.

As many of you know, we’ve spent the last 5 years building Vale K9 into a safe, clean and trusted space for you and your dogs. It’s something we’ve worked hard for, and we’re incredibly proud of the community that’s grown around it.

When the farm was sold, we agreed with the new owner that we would continue renting the field so everything could carry on as normal. More recently, they approached us about buying the business, and we shared full details in good faith.

Shortly after, we were told we would need to leave the land due to planning permission changes to the entrance and that the business would not be purchased.

Since then, we’ve become aware of a new business being set up at the same location, with references being made that strongly suggest a connection to our existing customer base. We feel this is to take over what we have built without giving anything to us for the hard work we have put into building this.

We want to be completely clear: we have no affiliation whatsoever with this new business.

This has been incredibly difficult for us, both personally and professionally. To lose something we’ve built from the ground up in this way has been tough to process.

However this isn’t the end.

We’ve secured a new location, and we’re already working hard behind the scenes to bring Vale K9 back, bigger and better. This community has always been at the heart of what we do, and we would genuinely mean the world to us to have your support as we move forward.

If you’ve ever visited, supported us, or believed in what we’ve built we’d love you to stick with us on this next chapter.

More details on the new site coming very soon 🐾

Thank you,
Mairi and Luke

It is with great sadness that we share the news that OUR FIELD WILL BE CLOSING.
The dog field at Foxholes Farm, will be no more as of 9pm Sunday 3rd of May 2026.

We are greatly saddened by the news from our landlord. However, it is outwith our hands, and we cannot dispute this decision.
We have not been given a re-entry date and we therefore we will no longer be operational at this location, at Foxholes Farm.

We know that this will come as a great shock to many of our customers and you’ll feel this just loss as much as we will as a family.
Some of you use this field daily. Some of you have expressed how this space has helped to change your dog and also your relationship with your dog/s. We’ve even had a couple get engaged at the field. 💗

Luke and I have loved (and lived) everything ‘Foxholes Farm’ for the best part of 8 years and for things to end this abruptly feels like a very sad end. We are passionate dog people and this field was opened as a result of our passion to provide a special place for locals and dog lovers of all breeds to enjoy.

As a couple we literally live and breathe all things dog, no word of a lie… 24/7! They are our life and our livelihood. And they will continue to be, via our pet food company Vale Pet Foods, our online dog accessories brand Poppy + Ted and also our Pet Shop in Lutterworth Pro-Vale Pet Supplies - Lutterworth

We are so proud to provide this local secure dog field since 2021 for Crick and the local residents and other surrounding villages. we are so grateful for all of the feedback and shared positivity around its creation and existence. We have thoroughly enjoyed keeping a tidy patch of freedom for you all to use these last 4 years! And we know our grass cutting hero, Tim Whittaker will also miss the early morning cuts up on the field too! ☀️🚜

However, with this change we will not be deterred and we WE WILL BE MOVING TO A NEW LOCATION. So keep your eyes peeled for more information. 🙏🏻

We want to say an incredibly BIG and heart felt THANKYOU to every single customer over the last 4 years.
Thank you for sharing in the joy of Vale K9!
We are so grateful for you all.
We will be back soon.

🤯🙏🏻💪🏼🐶🐾…. We think we know the answer!

Here’s how you can get one…
We are in need of FACEBOOK & GOOGLE REVIEWS!
We get so many lovely texts from customers, but very little official reviews. Facebook and Google reviews will make all the difference to spread the word about our field.

PLEASE Mention your favourite memory or add a recent photo of your dog/s at the field and we will return the favour and book you a FREE 30min session for as many doggies as you need.

The first 20 reviews (on each platform) will get a free session. This offer will be closed after we reach this number. Customers can not duplicate their reviews to get two free sessions.

Please screen shot the review and send it to Mairi 07766131951 or send us a message here on facebook to let us know who to contact for the free session.
